HomeMy WebLinkAboutDecision 3315 Landscape Detailss , ANDSCAPE NOT Lawn Prior to placing any loam within seeded lawn areas, scarify all compacted soil with york rake, disk, harrow or similar equipment. Spread six Inches of stockpiled (or imported if Insufficient stockpiled loam exists) loam within all areas designated,for 'sodded lawn ' . Test loam for nutrient levels and acidity and adjust with fertilizers or dime as necessary for optimum growth. Fine rake prior to seeding. Hydroseed designated areas with 'Triplex General' seed mix as distributed by Loft's Seed Co., Arlington, MA (617) 648-7550, at a rate of 4 pounds per 1,000 SF. Hydroseed wildflower areas as directed upon provision of approved wildflower mix. irrigate immediately and in an uninterupted manner_ to provide one Inch of water per week minimum. Cut seeded lawn areas when growth has reached three Inches. Cut seeded lawn areas when growth has reached three Inches. Fertilize with 10-6-4 fertilizer (509 organic N ) after first cutting and reseed any bare spots as necessary. Contractor shall be responsible for lawn areas through second cutting. Maintain all sodded lawn areas as directed. Plants & Plantings : All plants to be nursery grown and sized according to Massachusetts Nurseryman's Association standards. No substitutions permitted without prior approval of the landscape architect. Pit plant all trees and shrubs as detailed. Backfill with prepared mix containing 75% garden quality loam and 259 Canadian peat moss. Install water water basins around all trees and shrubs. Guy and stake all trees larger than 21/2' caliper. Irrigate all trees and shrubs immediately and thoroughly after installation and throughout the maintenance period. Any trees or shrubs, vines or groundcover plantings not established and thriving within six months ( or over winter, whichever is greater) snail be replaced wltn equal stock. Maintenance Period Contractor shall maintain all lawn areas, ground cover beds, trees and shrubs until second cutting of lawn areas ( see 'SEEDED LAWNS). During this maintenance period, contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, all watering, weeding, feeding maintenance of watering basins, reseeding, cutting, pruning, spraying all trees, maintenance of stakes, raking of mulch, etc. After the second cutting of the lawn areas, this maintenance period shall elapse providing lawns have been accepted by appropriate parties. If, for any -reason, lawn areas are not accepted, this maintenance period shall continue until full acceptanceorthe lawn areas has been realized.
