THE IDEAS, CONCEPTS AND CRITERIA DESCRIBED BY THE OWNER TO BE IMPORTANT FOR THE TYPE OF HVAC SYSTEMS BEING INSTALLED INCLUDED, COMFORT, HIGH EFFICIENCY, LOW OPERATING COST, AND MULTIPLE ZONE CONT30L. 2. BASIS FOR THE DESIGN: A. ACCOMPLISH THE OWNER'S IDEAS, CONCEPTS AND SYSTEM CRITERIA. B. SYSTEMS WERE DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVEN ENGINEERING PRACTICE, ARI, SMACNA, ASHRAE, AND MANUFACTURER'S LISTING REQUIREMENTS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF 780 CMR AND ALL REFERENCED STANDARDS (780 CMR 101.6) J. SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: A. HYDRONIC HEATING THE HYDRONIC HEATING SYSTEM PROVIDES TWO MAIN FUNCTIONS. ITS PRIMARY FUNCTION PROVIDES HOT WATER TO HYDRONIC COILS LOCATED IN EACH OF THE AIR HANDLING UNITS. HOT WATER IS CIRCULATED TO EA.H OF THE HW COILS AT A WATER TEMPERATURE WHICH IS ADJUSTED BASED UPON AN ALGORITHM INCLUDING CURRENT SYSTEM DEMAND AND OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE. ANY ZONE THERMOSTAT HAS THE CAPABILITY OF CALLING FOR HEAT WHEN OTHER ZONES ARE SATISFIED. A SECONDARY BOILER FUNCTION PROVIDES LOW TEMPERATURE WATER TO THE FLOOR WARMING RADIANT SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM'S FUNCTION IS NOT CONTROLLED BY THE SPACE THERMOSTATS (EXCEPT FOR THE BASEMENT) BUT IS ADJUSTED TO MAINTAIN A "WARM FLOOR", IN REASING THE OCCUPANT COMFORT LEVEL AT A LOWER HEATING SPACE TEMPERATURE. C. DIRECT EXPANSION COOLING THREE INDEPENDENT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED. EACH SYSTEM CONSIST OF A COMMUNICATING VARIABLE SPEED FAN COIL UNIT WITH DIRECT EXPANSION COOLING COIL, AN ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER, AND A 17 SEER TWO STAGE CONDENSING UNIT. CONTROLS FO? EACH SYSTEM ARE MANAGED BY A MASTER CONTROL WHICH ELECTRONICALLY COMMUNICATES WITH THE SYSTEMS VARIOUS COMPONENTS; INTERPRETING SYSTEM AIR STATIC PRESSURE, FAN COIL STATUS, ZONE DAMPER STATUS, CONDENSING UNIT STATUS, INDOOR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY STATUS, AND OUTDOOR AIR TEMPERATURE. INFORMATION RECEIVED BY THE MASTER CONTROL, IS PROCESSED BY THIS DEVICE AND SENDS APPROPRIATE SIGNALS TO THE VARIOUS SY3 M COMPONENTS AS NECESSARY TO SATISFY THE USER SETPOiNTS. 4. THE TYPE, SIZE AND CAPACITY OF THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS ARE NOTED ON THESES D°AWINGS. 5. FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE HVAC SYSTEMS' WILL BE BASED UPON THE ENGINEER'S INS.r=10N WHICH SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: A. COMPLETED PJNC-I LIST ITEMS. B. REVIEW AND ADP::OVAL OF CONTRACTOR'S BALANCING TEST. C. SPOT CHECK FO? THE ACCURACY OF BALANCING REPORT. VERIFICATION G.= SYSTEM OPERATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DESIGN DOCU!,/E I:S. D. FINAL AFFIDAVIT TJ BUILDING DEPARTMENT 6. THE HVAC CONTRACTOR? SHALL SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING TO THE ENGINEER FOR AF,?OIAL: A. HVAC EQUIPMENT AND CONTROL PRODUCT DATA SHEETS. B. BALANCING P, PO.=T. C. OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS INCLUDING, PRODUCT DATA SHEETS, AS—BJILT DRAWINGS AND THE RECOMMENDED WEEKLY, MONTHLY AND "EARLY PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES 7. THE HVAC CONTPP4.CTO° SHALL MAINTAIN A SET OF RECORD DRAWINGS (AS—BU,2TS) WI-L'CH SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ENGINEER (SEE 6 ABOVE) AS A PREREQUISITE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE, PER Cl.,q 780 116.0.
