SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SMITH k LOVELESS
"MICROFAST 0.9" TREATMENT SYSTEM
GENERAL: The Contractor shall furnish and install one (1) single home "FAST"
treatment system complete with polyethylene enclosure, PVC filter media, blower
assembly, draft tube assembly, sidestream attachment for recycle, discharge line
assembly, controls, alarms, ventilation system, and all other appurtenances required for
proper installation and operation.
TREATMENT SYSTEM: The system shall be a single home "FAST" treatment system
with a rated hydraulic capacity of up to 500 GPD as manufactured by Scienco/Fast of
St. Louis, MO, equipped with waste recycle back to the settling zone of the septic tank
for DENITRIFICATION.
CONTROLS: Controls for the system shall be mounted in a NEMA 1 enclosure located
within the basement of the residential dwelling, as noted on the plans, and shall be as
detailed on the plans.
The alarm system shall consist of visual and audible alarms to indicate failure of the
blower assembly. The visual system consisting of both visual and audible alarms shall
be wired into the system control. The location of these alarms shall be approved by the
Owner and the Engineer. Each audible alarm shall be equipped with a silence switch for
manual silencing of the alarm horn.
"FASTTM" CHAMBER: The "FAST" system shall be situated in the septic tank of the
system, as shown on the drawings and specified herein. The "FAST" system and
septic tank shall be delivered to the site as one unit. The Contractor shall provide
coordination between the "FASTTM" system and septic tank suppliers with regards to
fabrication of the septic tank, installation of the "FASTTM" system, and delivery to the
site.
ACCESS: access way to fast unit to be suitable to "FAST" contractor for purposes of
maitlteriance.
MAINTENANCE: System shall be maintained by contractor with qualified person.
Maintenance and sample analysis reports shall be provided to the Board of
health per "Provisional Use" approval.
