NS/mew � � . . • � • Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod � 411 Main Street Suite 6 • Yarmouthport,MA 02675 • 508-362-3559 www.habitatcapecod.org Board of Selectmen Town of Yarmouth 1146 Route 28 h�� South Yarmouth,MA 0264-5 �����t`� April 23,2015 ����L/�"'� Dear Board: Habitat foc Humanity of Cape Cod is pleased to have the opportunity ta build six permanentiy affordable,deed- restricted homes at 5&9 Virginia Street,Yarmouth.This was a privately owned parcel,ident(fied by Habitat as appropriate for community housing.Habitat worked with the Town and housing stakeholders on a Local Initiative Program Application(LIP),which is the first step in a 408 Comprehensive Permit permitting process.Habitat now has received our Comprehensive Permit,has recorded a Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)Regulatory Agreement,has secured acqutsition and construction funding from Community Preservation, as well as construction funding from the Yarmouth Affordable Housing Trust,from Federal Home Loan Bank , Boston Affordable Housing Program,and from private fundraising is ongoing.Habitat has submitted alf necessary materials for our building permit applicatio�s,and is looking forvvard to starting our infrastructure work. j i We are writing to request that town fees,including Building Department,Board of Health,Water Department, � and other fees that are part of construction,be waived for the six affordable homes and the infrastructure at the Virginia Street site.Habitat typically requests that Iocal fees relating to construction of our affordable homes be � waived by Towns.Such support is important to us in keeping our development costs down and keeping our prices truly affordable. It is our understanding that the Town policy is to waiver up to$2,000 per project.We have attached an approximation of our fees to this letter,and would respectfully request the maximum amount. The Community Housing C�mmittee,at their April 6,2015 meeting,voted to support this request. The�rginia Street homes will be sold to qualified families with incomes at or below 6096 and 6596 of inedian income,and wiil be sotd with an affordable deed rider to p�eserve them as affordable housing for the town in perpetu'rty.The homes have already been included on the DHCD Subsidized Housing Inventory for the Town of : Yarmouth.
