3.1 EXAMINAIION AND PREPARATION
A. REAM PIPE AND TUBE ENDS. REMOVE BURRS. REMOVE SCALE AND
INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF PIPING BEFORE ASSEMBLY.
B. PREPARE PIPING CONNECTIONS TO EQUIPMENT WITH FLANGES OR UNI
C. VERIFY ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION IS READY TO RECEIVE ROUGH -IN WP
THIS SECTION.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. INSTALL WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH WRITTEN MANUFACTURER'S
INSTRUCTIONS.
B. PROVIDE DIELECTRIC CONNECTIONS WHEREVER JOfNT;NG DISSIMILAR
METALS.
C. INSTALL PIPING TO CONSERVE BUILDING SPACE AND NOT INTERFERE
USE OF SPACE. GROUP PIPING WHENEVER PRACTICAL AT COMMON
ELEVATIONS.
D. INSTALL PIPING TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION %IHOL
STRESSING PIPE, JOINTS, OR CONNECTED EQUIPMENT.
E. PROVIDE CLEARANCE FOR INSTALLATION OF INSULATION AND ACCESS
VALVES AND FITTINGS.
F. SLOPE WATER PIPING AND ARRANGE TO DRAIN AT LOW POINTS.
G. INSTALL SPECIALTIES AND TANKS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURE
INSTRUCTIONS.
3.3 DISINFECTION OF DOMESTIC WATER P'DING SYSTEI•,1
A. PRIOR TO STARTING WORK, VERI-Y SYSTEM IS COMPLETE FLUSHED A
CLEAN. ENSURE PH OF WATER TO EE TREATED IS BETWEEN 7.4 AND 7
BY ADDING ALKALI (CAUSTIC SODA OP SODA ASH) OR ACID
(HYDROCHLORIC).
B- INJECT DISINFECTANT, FREE CF'LORINE IN LIQUID, POWDER, TAB -ET 0'
GAS FOFt'M,THR000HCUT SYSTEM TO OBTAIN 50 TO 80 FIG/L RESIDUAL.
BLEED WATER FROM CUTLETS TO ENSURE DISTRIBUTION.
C. MAINTAIN DISINFECTANT IN SYSTEM FOR 24 HOURS. IF FINAL
DISINFECTA?1T RESIDUAL TESTS LESS THAN 25 MGL, REPEAT TREATMENT
D. FLUSH D'SINFECTANT FROM SYSTEM. TAKE SA'.1PLES NO SOONER TH,
