14. Septic System
>. Basis of design
No Garbage grinder

2. Site Preparation —
a) As required by the Town of jYest Yarmouth, '
prior to any construction activity, the septic,
system must be staked—out by the' Design; Engineer
according ' to, the approved ,elan
b) All trees, stumps, boulders, debris and otrier materials
that will interfere with construction must be removed
from the area of construction.
c) All fill material must be approved by the Town of West
Yarmouth Health Department , or the Design Engineer
prior to placement
3. Septic System —
aj House sewer is to be 4" Extra Heavy Cast Iron`Pipe or
equal set at a slope of 0.25'%ft. Pipe is ,'o be bedded in
compacted soil free of large stones and laid true to grade
and line. Replace existing pipe if necessary
b) At the ., time of installation, the existing tank is to be
pumped out by a licensed contractor and inspected It is
recommended that the Town Sanitation ba contacted prior
to this activity. If the tank is found to be a 1000 gallon
Precast Concrete unit in satisfactory condition, it -need not
be replaced Should the tank fail to meet the above-.. criteria,
it must be replaced with a 1500 gallon Tank by Acme,
Shorey, or equal. Set the tank at inverts with inverts at-
the elevations of the o.+-iginal tank.. Mori;.- the annular space
around inlet and outlet pipes 6" of 'crushsd stone to be placed
below new tank prior to installation.
c) Connect the tank to the distribution FielY with 4" PVC Pipe
Sch40, or equal. Set pipe at a slope of 6� 1,25"/ft. free from
sags or depressions.
d) The distribution field is to be 3 Flow diffussers with 4'
stone sides & ends. Set the distribution ,field level at the invert
distribution elevations shown ( see the typical section detail J
e) Uniform Distribution —Inverts _of Overflow Distribution Box to be
2" higher than the invert of piping trench. Distribution Box to be
water tested for levelness and set on 6" stone base
1),.Distribution Field to be loamed and seeded as specified immediately
upon final inspection of the system. Final . grade to shed surface water.

B. Installation and Backfill
1. General Construction
a) The elevations shown may be raised but not lowered without the
consent of, the Design Engineer Questions regarding the details
of the construction should be addressed prior to the commencement
of construction.
b) If the installer finds site conditions to vary significantly from the
conditions shown, the Design Engineer is to be notified immediately.
The Design Engineer shall veri,y soil conditions of a medium sand
to a level 4' below leaching area.
c) In addition to the specifics contained in these notes and on :the
plan, the Contractor is required to be familiar with and follow
the provisions within the Massachusetts Public Health Code and
any other standard appropriate to insure the health and safety
of the workmen and . homeowner.
2. Surface Requirements
a) Limit the area of disturbance to within 35" of overall dimension
of the septic system. Minimize unnecessary disruption of stable
vegetation in areas not diectly involved in Ike construction.
b)' Final grading, loaming, fertilization, and seeding should take
place as soon as is practical. Provide at least 4 of topsoil and
loam in areas to be planted with grass. The following
recommendations may be followed.
