GENERAL NOTES AND MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS:
1. All workmanship to conform to the requirements of the Massachusette State Building Code,
latest edition.
2. The Contractor shall verify a minimum soil type of sand, gravel mix, with a minimum berring capacity,
q a=3000 pss for soil conditions other than above, the Engineer of record shall be contacted prior to form setting.
3. Field verify dimensions where required.

4. Provide sufficient temporary bracing and shoring to permit the safe installation and completion
of all work without damage to property, the existing house and houses on abutting lots, and
CA without jeopardizing the safety of any person(s).
5. Concrete: Minimum 28 day strength, f'c=3000 psi, 3/4" aggregate, designed per American
Concrete Institute Code, latest issue, max. slump = 4".

7. Connectors and Fastene,s:
a.) Simpson Strong -Tie connectors to be installed per manufacturer specifications, with all
nail holes filled, with the size as specified by the manufacturer.
b.) Bolts: ASTM A307 galvanized, or better. Provide washers at all wood contact.
c.) Wood Screws: Provide galvanized or stainless steel wood screws to re -attach existing
6x2 decking to existing joists, minirrium 1 screw per contact to supplement existing (stripped)
