ARCHITECT ' S GENE RAL NOTES
ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST STANDARDS ANDS
PRACTICES OF THE TRADE AND IN A STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS Or.,
THE MASSACHUSETTS BUILDING CODE AND OTHER APPLICABLE REGULATIONS AND
ORDINANCES.
ONLY A QUALIFIED CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTOR(S) WITH EXPERIENCES
(PERSONNEL SHALL BE EMPLOYED AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.
.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR STAKING OUT THE STRUCTURES AND:
FOR VERIFYING ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO
iCOMMENCEMENT OF ANY WORK. HE SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AN OVERALL
;DIMENSIONAL COORDINATION AND FOR COORDINATION OF THE ENTIRE CONSTRUCTION
;PROGRESS.
IF THE CONTRACTOR DISCOVERS ANY UNUSUAL CONDITIONS OR CONDITIONS
DIFFERENT FROM THOSE INDICATED ON THE -DRAWINGS, HE SHALL CONSULT WITH
THE ARCHITECT BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH ANY FURTHER WORK.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND
PROCEDURES USED AT THE SITE, AS WELL AS FOR ALL NECESSARY SAFETY
MEASURES.
ONLY SPECIFIED MATERIALS, NEW AND SOUND, SHALL BE USED FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION. ANY PROPOSED MATERIAL SUBSTITUTIONS OR DEVIATIONS FROM THE
PLANS SHALL BE REVIEWED WITH THE ARCHITECT.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING THE SITE AND STORED
MATERIALS IN A NEAT ORDER. DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED ON A REGULAR BASIS.
A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE PREMISES AND OF THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
BY THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS SUBCONTRACTORS, IF ANY, IS MANDATORY. BY
AGREEING TO PROCEED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR ACKNOWLEDGES
THAT HE HAS INSPECTED THE SITE AND THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND THAT
HE HAS ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT..
.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING AND PROVIDING
TEMPORARY BRACING, SHORING, SUPPORTS,' ETC. AS MAY BE NECESSARY WHEN
FIELD CONDITIONS SO WARRANT DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING SUITABLE TEMPORARY
ENCLOSURES AT ALL OPENINGS REQUIRED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION, SG THAT THE
BUILDING INTERIOR IS SECURED AGAINST• UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY, AS WELL AS
PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THE OWNER A CERTIFICATE OF HIS
COMPREHENSIVE LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HOLD THE OWNER AND THE ARCHITECT AND THEIR AGENTS
HARMLESS FROM, AND INDEMNIFY THEM 'AGAINST, ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM HIS
PERFORMANCE OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND ANY RELATED ACTIVITES.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN SAFETY BARRIERS AND SIGNAGE OF A SUITABLE
KIND TO KEEP UNATHORIZED PERSONS FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT THE WORK AT ALL TIMES IN SUCH A MANNER AS
TO PREVENT ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY AND TO MINIMIZE ANY
DISRUPTION TO THE NEIGHBORS AND TO THE OWNER'S USE OF CERTAIN AREAS OF
THE BUILDING DURING THE .CONSTRUCTION. HE SHALL PROCEED ONLY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH A PROGRESS SCHEDULE AGREED UPON WITH THE OWNER.

1. ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE 3,500 PSI MIN. 0 28 DAYS.
2. ALL STRUCTURAL LUMBER SHALL BE NO 1-2 S -P -F (Pb -1,200 PSI MIN.),
SOUND AND WITH MAX. MOISTURE CONTENT OF 19%.
3. ALL REQUIRED MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE DESIGN -BUILD
BY OTHERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MASSACHUSETTS BUILDING PLUMBING
AND ELECTRICAL CODES AND OTHER APPLICABLE REGULATIONS.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH THE WORK OF OTHERS
WHOM THE OWNER MIGHT ENGANGE IN THE CONSTRUCTION THE CONTRACTOR
_ SHALL ACCOMODATE SUCH WORK AS NEEDED.
