LOW TIDE ARE SHOWN AS NEGATIVE VALUES. BF,NCIINIARK IS THE
GAS VALVE IN STREET FLUSH WITH PAVEMENT.
2. PLAN REFERENCE: TOPOGRAPHIC SITE PLAN PREPARED BY ROBIN
WILCOX, PLS AND CRAIG SHORT, PE, DATED FEBRUARY 2, 2008
3. ACCESS TO THE CONSTRUCTION WORK SITE SHALL BE V1A TIIE
EXISTING DRIVEWAY OFF OF SWORDFISH LANE AND BY PARKERS
RIVER AS NEEDED,
4. PROPOSED BULKHEAD REPAIR IS BASED UPON REPAIR EFFORT
CONCEPT, CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND PROTOCOL AS PROPOSED
BY CAPE COD DOCKS, INC. OF WEST YARMOUTH, AIA
5. EXISTING WOOD SHEETING SHALL BE REMOVED ACCORDING TO
THE PROPOSED PROTOCOL AND DISPOSED OF OFF SITE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL
PRACTICES. REMAINING TIMBER COMPONENTS SHALL BE
INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE AND GENERAL CONDITION PRIOR I'0
PROCEEDING WITH REPLACEMENT SHEETING. INSTALLATION AND
ANCHOR REPAIR. ANY DAMAGED OR DETERIORATED TIMBERS
SHALL BE REPLACED SUBJECT TO DIMENSIONAL
RECONSIDERATION BY THE ENGINEER.
6. EXISTING ANCHOR ROD CUTTING AND WELDING SIIALI. BE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH STANDARD GALVANIZED STEEL WORK AND
WELDING GUIDELINES FOR WORKER SAFETY. ROD JOINT OVERLAP
SHALT. BE A MINIMUM OF 181N. AND WELDED ON BOTH SIDES. ROD
CLAMPS ARE RECOMMENDED
7. WELDED ANCHOR RODS SHALL BE PROTECITI) AT THE WELD
LOCATION USING FIELD APPLICATION EPDXY CORROSION
PROTECTION COATINGS AND WRAPPINGS AS AVAILABLE IN
COMPLETE ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURERS
RECOMMENDATIONS SUBJECT TO INSPECTION.
S. WHERE INDICATED BY ANCHOR INSPECTION AND EXISTING
BULKHEAD ALIGNMENT, INSTALL HELICAL SCREW EARTH
ANCHORS TO A SATURATED SOIL RESISTANCE OF 15 KIPS. ANCHOR
PLACEMENT SHALL CONSIDER THE EXISTING DWELLING
FOUNDATION LOCATION AND ELEVATION. ESTABLISH
ORIENTATION AND DIRECTION ACCORDINGLY FOR EACH ANCHOR
APPLICATION.
9. THE AREA INDICATED AS" ZONE OF SPECIAL INTEREST" SHALL
HAVE NEW ANCHORS ADDFD ON ALL OUT OF PLUMB PILES. THE
EXISTING PILINGS SIIALI, BE STRAIGHTEND OR REPLACED TO
MATCH THE VERTICAL ALIGNMENT OF THE NEW SHEETS.
10, SIIF.E:T PILING SHALL BE CMI SERIES 425 OR EQUAL VINYL SHEET
PILE WITH MINIMUM SECTION MODULUS OF 11, PANEL WIDTH OF I8
INCHES OR AS APPROVED BY THE OWNER'S ENGINEER. LIMITED
SEGMENTS (3 TO 4 FT.) OF THE SHEETING SHALL BE REPLACED AT A
TIME.
11. SHEET PILE INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN GENERAL ACCORDANCE
WITH THE TYPICAL, PROFILE WORK SHOULD BE SCHEDULED FOR
TIMES SURROUNDING LOW TIDE. .
12. ALL TIMBER USED FOR THE HORIZONTAL STRUCTURAL MEMBER
REPLACEMENT WHERE INDICATED SHALL BE PRESSURE IREATED
WITH PRESERVATIVE FOR MARINE APPLICATION OR EQUAL.
LOCAL ORDINANCE RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY FOR PRESERVATIVE
TREATMENT. DIMENSIONS OF THE SUBSTITUTIONS SHALL BE
REVIEWED AND AS AUTHORIZED. -
13. HARDWARE SHALL BE NON -CORROSIVE HOT DIP GALVANIZED
STEEL OR EQUAL.
14. VINYL SHEETS SHALL BE VIBRATED AND/OR JETTED INTO POSITION.
IS. BACK FILL ANY VOIDS WITH CLEAN SAND. PROVIDE FOLLOWUP
INSPECTION TO RE -FILL AREAS OF SF.TTLEM ENT AND TORE -
CHECK ANCHOR TENSION,
16. ADJUSTMENTS TO THE EXISTING PIERS AND OTHER FEATURES SUCH
AS REMOVAL. AND REPLACEMENT OF DECK SECTIONS FOR WORK
ACCESS SHALL BE AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER.
17. REPLACEMENT PILINGS WHERE NEEDED SHALT. BE HAMMER -
DRIVEN W'1117RE PRACTICABLE,. EACH REPLACEMENT PILE SHALL
BE EVALUATED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS DEPENDENT ON
LOCATION,
