OIL/WATER SEPARATOR NOTES GENERAL PLAN
1. INLET PIPE SHALL BE AT LEAST FOUR INCHES ABOVE NORMAL WATER LINE.
2. OUTLET SHALL BE AT LEAST THREE FEET BELOW THE SURFACE.
3. THE OIL/WATER SEPARATOR MUST BE FILLED WITH CLEAN WATER BEFORE USING AND
AFTER BEING EMPTIED FOR PERIODIC CLEANING.
4. BOTH VENTS SHALL BE EXTENDED INDEPENDENTLY 18" ABOVE ROOF, OR AS APPROVED
BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, AND THE AUTHORITIES OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF
MASSACHUSETTS.
5. ALL CIRCUITS, MONITORS, PROBES, AND ALARMS SHALL BE TESTED ANNUALLY BY A
REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER. TEST RESULTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE LOCAL
BOARD OF HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
ELECTRICAL NOTES
1. ALL UNDERGROUND CONDUIT SHALL BE INSTALLED 36" BELOW GRADE AND WITH 4" MININIMUM
SAND BEDDING ALL AROUND. PROVIDE 6" WIDE, RED, 6 MIL, THICK, POLYETHYLENE
WARNING TAPE 1FT. BELOW FINISHED GRADE ABOVE AND ALONG THE LENGTH OF ALL
UNDERGROUND CONDUITS.
2. FURNISH ALL MATERIAL AND INSTALLATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRICAL CODE AND ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL CODES AND ORDINANCES.
OBTAIN ALL NECCESARY PERMITS AND PAY ALL FEES FOR PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS.
3. ALL WIRE SHALT_ BE INSTALLED IN RACEWAY. NO CONDUIT SMALLER THAN 3/4 IN- SHALL
BE: USED. RACEWAY RUNS ARE SHOWN DIAGRAMMATICALLY ONLY AND SHALL BE
INSTALLED IN A MANNER TO PREVENT CONFLICTS WITH EQUiPMENT AND STRUCTURAL
CONDITIONS. EXPOSED RACEWAYS SHALL BE INSTALLED PARALLEL TO BEAMS
AND WALLS. EXPOSED RACEWAYS SHALL BE HOT -DIPPED GALVANIZED, ELECTRICAL
METALLIC TUBING, HAVING AN ADDITIONAL SEALING FINISH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE.
BURIED CONDUITS SHALL BE RIGID PVC, SCHEDULE 40, NEMA TYPE TC.
4. PROVIDE ALL MATERIALS AND INSTALLATIONS IN THE UNDERGROUND TANKS, VAULTS AND
CHAMBERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRICAL CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR
CLASS 1, DIVISION 1, GROUP D HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS.
5. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE COPPER. WIRE FOR POWER CIRCUITS SHALL BE TYPE XHHW.
WIRE FOR CONTROL CIRCUITS SHALL BE #14 AWG, STRANDED, TYPE THWN.
6. ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED BY ELECTRICAL SUBCONTRACTOR.
