The three season room had issues with the floor and the exterior stairs. I need to see for myself the current condition. I don't think bldg would allow a wall to be built blocking off access to a part of the basement. Some of the issues were, but not limited to; 1. Holes in ceilings on main floor, concern they may affect the sprinkler system and it's ability to respond to a fire in the prescribed time. 2. Rotted flooring on the deck as well as stairs on west side of building. 3. Floor tiles in disrepair in the kitchen. 4. Trap leak at hand wash sink. 5. Ceiling tiles in disrepair 6. Rotted cast waste line in basement. 7. Abandoned locker room with sewer gasses emanating from the area, cause found to be traps in toilets had dried out, room was blocked by 4' high sheetrock across doorway. 8. Install a proper deadbolt at the bottom of the stairs from the bedroom apartment. Cannot be keyed on both sides. Jon, Bruce and myself inet with manager Michael Watson, discussed all of the above and had a game plan. He would fix the ceiling immediately, apply for and receive a demolition permit for the abandoned locker room. (Servpro was the company he mentioned) Complete the kitchen repairs and provide an engineers report for the deck and stairway, or determine that the deck did not affect the egress and have it blocked off and posted as unsafe. Lee has just informed me that while conducting his inspection today, the whole building looked great and passed, except he could not access the waste line in question or the abandoned locker room as it was walled off, with no access whatsoever. That area requires access for maintenance, Fire Personnel as well as Health and Building Dept Officials. 12/23/2013 Page 2 of 2 . I am not 100% certain if all of you have been satisfied with all of your respective code concerns, but I think this should be looked into further. I think we should all meet, come up with a game plan, and visit the site to have all of the questions we have answered. We were very specific about the timeframe we expected things to happen and I never heard from the manager again. I would like to hear your thoughts and also plan a meeting soon. The place has improved some, but has a way to go to ensure the safety of the public, the staff, and town officials.
