RE: Reinspection of American Host Moiel, February 13, 2001
Dear Mr. Patel:
This depaztment in conjunction with the Building, Fire and Police Departments
conducted a reinspection of the American Host Motel on February 13, 2001. The initial
team inspection was performed on December 21, 2000. At the time of the most recent '
inspection, there were still many violations of the health and building codes. Enclosed
you will find letters of violation from the Health, Building, Electrical and Plumbing '
inspectors.
You or a representative of the corporation are hereby ordered to appear at the
Board of Health meeting on Monday, March 19, 2001 at 5:00 PM in the large
hearing room at town hall. Please be prepared at that time to inform the Board of '
your timetable to correct the violations so that the motel will be in comptiance with ,
the health code. '
If you should have any questions relative to this matter, please contact me at the Health
Department. I can be reached by telephoning the number printed above on Monda.y '

The following rooms were found to be suitable for occupancy;
1, 2. 4, 8. 9. 10, 16, 21, 29, 30► 31� 32. 34. 37. 38, 39, 40. 41, 42.
Thirteen were occapied.
Rooms 22 thru 27 were ordered closed by the Building Carmissioner due to
the lack of sufficient eyress, an additional stairwzy will be required
for these second floor units.
The entire west wing, now vacant, with refurbishing in process, may not
not be occupied until such time as all of its units are deemed acceptable
and ready for use.
The following rooms were found to have violations in need of correction.
Some had previously noted corrections uncorrected from the prior inspection
in December of 2000, (*).

The indoor pool had been drained as previously ordered, however, the grounds
were still heavily litter�ed. Mr. Patel stated that he would have the grounds
cleared of all litter and debris in a weeks time. A site visit on Wednesday,
February 21, 2001, showed that the clean \up is far from complete.

Housekeeping services are less than desirable. Mr. Patel stated more than
once that that he has no employees for this. He was told that he must
provide regular housekeeping, even if he has to do it himself, or close
the motel.
In two rooms I showed him the extreme need for cleanin9 services. One
needed heavy cleaning in the bath room and tub, the other needed heavy clean-
ing throughout as well as inanediate removal of rubbish.
Both of those rooms were occupied by "long term" tenants.
