Furnish and install Dump pit, pumping equipment and controls. 1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Qualifications: 1. Manufacturer: Firms regularly engaaed in manufacture of Pump Pit products of types, materials, and sizes required, whose products have been in satis- factory use in similar service for 5 years minimum. B. Codes, Standards and Inspections: 1. Pump Pit Materials and Installation: Comply with all applicable provisions of Massachusetts Environmental Code 310 CMR 11.00 and 15.00 (DEQE Title V) and local Board of Health regulations. 2. Obtain all necessary permits, inspections and approvals from local Board of Health in proper sequence and manner. 3. Comply with all applicable codes pertaining to products and installation of electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment. Obtain all necessary permits, inspections and approval of regulatory agencies. 1.03 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's technical product data and -installation instructions for pumping equipment and pit components not specified on these drawinos. 1.04 PROJECT/SITE CONDITIONS A. rGeneral: The location of underground utilities. septic systems and structures shown on these plans is approximate. Notify DIG SAFE (1-900-322-4644) and the Yarmouth Water Department (506 392-4974) at least 72 hours prior to any excavation for this project work. Verify building inverts. and report immediately to Engineer all site conditions which would conflict with execution of this project work as described on these drawinos. B. Provide. install and maintain all temporary construction to protect persons and property from injury during the construction period. SEWAGE D NO. 1 (PP1 SECTION A -A 2"0 GALV. IRON PIPE SECTION A -A R. FRAME 1/2" = 1'- 0" COVER PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS A. Pump Pit: 1. Provide all necessary elbows. tees, adapters, couplings, collars, piping and fittings for connection of all pump pit structures and components. 2. Piping and fittings: All internal pump pit pipino shall be SCH40 gale. iron pipe. e. Pump Pit Structures: 1. Provide 2000 gallon precast concrete septic tank adapted for Dump pit use. 2. Provide structures with proper inlet and outlet and other access openings as indicated. 3. Provide precast concrete or concrete block risers where access is indicated at grade level and termination with cast iron frames and covers as specified on these drawinas or equal. 4. Precast Structures: As manufactured by Acme Precast, Linhares Precast or Rotundo for standard H-20 vehicle loading. C. Cement Mortar: ComoIy with Massachusetts Standard M4.02.15. one (1) part Portland Cement and two (2) parts of clean masonry sand by volume with sufficient water to form a workable mixture. D. Pumps: PSI -Provide two MEYERS WHR10 1 -HP 230V Inh pumps. Pumps of equal quality having a minimum pumping capacity of llOgpm at 22ft TDH may be substituted upon approval of Engineer. PP2-Provide one MEYERS SRM4MIC pump. A pump of equal quality having a minimum pumping capacity of 45 gpm at 13ft TDH may be substituted upon approval of Enaineer. E. Pump Controls: PPI -The control box shall be OHIO ELECTIRC CONTROLS CWH1021DSP. NEMA1, with bell. light, and switches to silence bell and test system. The control box shall also contain a cycle counter for each pump which will record the total number of times the pump switches on. PP2-The control box shall be OHIO ELECTRIC CONTROLS CR411SP. NEMA 1, with bell, light. and switches to silence bell an test system. Conduit and Junction Boxes: Electric wiring shall be continuous in appropriate conduit from the oump pit to the cgntrols and to the power source. The float switch activated alarm shall be powered by a circuit separate from the Dumos. Make splices in wirina at secondary splice box. ""ichline Products HL -41A, Fargo Mfg. Make all steel pipe joints permanently gas and watertight rising appropriate threaded fittings. .-. Make all oi.pe in connections at knockout locations prodded in precast structures. Supoort pipe at proper elevation and fill opening aro,ind pipe with mortar. 4. PPI -Provide appropriate adapter to 3" SCH40 PVC at 2' outside of pump pit wall. Provide 2" curbe stop. (Mueller Mark II. Oriseal, or Ford. Red Hed, Jones Ball Valves or equal) and Buffalo 145-R slide type valve box prior to expansion to 3" PVC 0 PUMP NO. _2_ (PP2 PLAN SECTION A -A RON LT105, 430LBS 8 1/8" FULL MORTAR BED BRICK ADJ. Place on level base of 3/4'1 to 1--1/2" washed stone at least one foot in depth. 2. Backfill with clean granular soil compacted to 90% of maximum dry density as determined by ASTM D.696 or AASHO D:T99. Ass tank, components in accordance with manufactures instructions components to achieve; guaranteed watertight structures. Assemble tonkg: in dewatered excavations, pump dry and demonstrate watertight construction by absence of leakage t.hrOugh construction joints for a 72 hour period after, restoration of high groundwater level.' _. Pumos and Controls: 1. Ins *all pumps and controls in strict r.:r)rr,ol i.nncn wi. th manufacturers instructions. 2. Set the elevation of float switches to orovidh tt,r', drawdown shown on the plan. Set the high level alarm switch at to activate the alarm when the liouid Ievel in the nit reaches the inlet invert. Set pumps to operate in the following sequence: PP!_ (a) Pumps off (b)Lead pump on at water level 4.08' (c) Lead pump off at water level 0.31" (d) Alarm and lap pump on at water level 4,33' Pumos shall alternate. PP2 (a) Pump off (b) Pump on at water level 1.33' (c) Pump off at water level 0.33' (d) Alarm on at water level 3.0' All water levels referenced to inside bottom of nump pit.
