NOTE.
1.) The property line information shown was
compiled from available record information.
2.) The topographic information was obtained
from an on the ground survey performed on
or between 04/FEB and 04/MAR/02.
3.) The datum used is mean low water, based on
a 19 Year series of observations ending 1978.

Quality Control Specification Requirements for Construction
1. General. Each stone will be placed by equipment suitable for lifting,
manipulating, and placing stones of the size and shape specified. Each stone shall
be placed with its longest axis perpendicular to the armor slope. Placing efforts
shall insure that each stone is firmly set and supported by underlying materials
and adjacent stones. Loose stones shall be reset or replaced. This is not a "points
out " design however the contractor shall make ever effort to create a relatively
smooth face yet maintain the setting of stone so that each stone is placed with its
longest axis perpendicular to the armor slope.
2. Foundation Fill, Filter Layer, Core, and Scouring Blanket
a. Stone should be within the size range specified and the material should be
well blended.
b. Stones with the largest dimension greater than three times the least
dimension should not constitute more than 10% of the total.
c. Materials should be inert to chemical and biological degradation in
seawater.
d. The following standard tests are suggested to establish material durability:
1. Abrasion test: ASTM C-535 or equivalent
2. Toughness test: ASTM C-170 or equivalent
3. Hardness test: ASTM C-235 or equivalent
4. Apparent specific gravity and absorption test: ASTM C-
127 or equivalent
3. Armor Stone. Stability as a whole depends primarily on the armor's ability to
withstand dynamic loadings induced by the hostile ocean environment. Armor
stone should meet, in addition to the requirements described in items b and c, the
following requirements:
a. The stones should have high specific gravity and low absorption.
b. Materials should be able to withstand the design impact conditions.
