SPECIAL REOUIREMMU FOR COASTAL CONSTRUCTION
1. SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR COASTAL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOUND IN THE 'COASTAL
CONSTRUCTION MANUAL' AS PUBLISHED BY THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA -55).
2. ALL STEEL MEMBERS, CONNECTIONS, CONNECTORS, ETC. SHALL BE
HOT DIPPED GALVANIZED. ALL METAL CONNECTORS MUST BE ROUTINELY
INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED OVER THE SERVICEABLE LIFE OF THE
STRUCTURE.
3. ALL LUMBER USED FOR PILES, CROSS BRACES, AND YOKES SHALL BE
MARINE GRADE CCA LUMBER. ALL OTHER LUMBER TO BE NON -CCA
TREATED OR APPROVED EQUAL
QREVISION 2 NOTES
THE PROJECT IS MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
1. THE LANDWARD END OF THE WALKWAY INCLUDES A 10' LONG X 12'
WIDE LANDING. ADDITIONAL CLEARING OF UNDERSTORY VEGETATION TO A
WIDTH OF 14' IS ALLOWED IN THIS AREA ONLY. AN ACCESS RAMP IS
ADDED TO REPLACE THE ACCESS STEPS TO ALLOW FOR FUTURE
HANDICAP USAGE. THE LANDING IS CONTAINED IN THE UPLAND
VEGETATION AND SHALL NOT EXTEND OVER THE MARSH GRASS.
2. LOW LEVEL LIGHTING, WATER, AND SHORE POWER ARE TO BE
INSTALLED ALONG THE WALKWAY TO THE PIER, WITH A SERVICE PEDESTAL
INSTALLED ON THE END OF THE PIER OR ON THE FLOAT.
3. THE HANDRAIL DESIGN IS MODIFIED TO ALLOW THE HANDRIAL TO BE
INTEGRAL TO THE PILES: SEE SECTION D -D DETAIL THE HANDRAIL SHALL
BE 2" X 8", WITH ROUTED EDGES AS SHOWN.
