We are very concerned that this is our second violation in the last six compliance checks. We continue to train our employees on the laws and regulations conceming the sale of tobacco products to people under the age of eighteen. We are taking the following action in order to comply with the Board of Health's regulations: 1 Temunation of employee who failed compliance check. 2 Installed audio system at gasoline island to inform public that we intend to take civil action against minors and their parents for placing our license in jeopardy by purchasing cigarettes. 3 Re-train all employees on sale of restricted age products. 4 Conduct a"We Card"Seminar in conjunction with the Board of Health. Ordered new"We ID"sign packages for all stores. ' 5 We audit twice a month in all stores. 6 Program register to ask clerk to check birth date of person purchasing cigarettes. 7. Reward positive behavior. • $50.00 bonus program for employees a-ho pass compliance chocks with town or our audit team. 8. Enclosed are copies of a compliance checks that we passed. We are currently reviewing a new piece of hardware called identiscan that takes copies of customer's driver licenses when they are approached for identification. We would also like to discuss the possibility of placing undercover agents in our stores to pose as clerks,in order to catch underage persons trying to purchase tobacco products. We feel this would send a strong message to minors that we intend to prosecute such persons as they are placing our business in serious danger.
