CONSTRUCTION NOTES .
1. ELEVATIONS REFER TO NGVD,1929. CONTACT CAPE COD ENGINEERING, INC. TO TRANFER
BENCHMARK AT THE PROPERTY TO WORK SITE AS NECESSARY
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE UNDERTAKEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANY ORDER OF CONDITIONS ISSUED BY
THE YARMOUTH CONSERVATION COMMISSION.
3. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE BY HAND MEANS.
4. THE PROPOSED STAIRWAY SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF STANDARD DIMENSIONED LUMBER AS
INDICATED ON THE TYPICAL DETATL. THE FRAME TIMBER STOCK SHALL BE OF A PRESSURE
TREATED (ACQ OR APPROVED EQUAL) CONSTRUCTION GRADE FIROR YELLOW PINE.
5. HARDWARE SHALL BE STEEL, HOT -DIP GALVANIZED. ALL BOLTS SHALL BE THRU-BOLTS WITH NUTS
AND WASHERS. USE OF LAG BOLTS SHALI. BE UPON OWNERS' ENGINEER APPROVAL.
6. HANDRAIL SHALL BE OF A SUITABLE, ONE AND ONE HALF INCH MLN. DIAMETER ROPE ON ONE SIDE
ONLY AT OWNER'S OPTION. ROPE SHALL BE PILE CONNECTED USING KNOT BRACKET FITTINGS FOR
TENSIONING. RAIL SYSTEM IS SLWECT TO INSPECTION PRIOR TO USE. RECOMMEND THAT
SPECIALTY MANUFACTURED ROPE RAIL SYSTEM COMPONENTS BF USED FOR THIS PURPOSE.
7. DECK PLANK SPACING SHALL BE THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH UNLESS A REDUCED SPACING IS
APPROVED BY THE YARMOUTH CONSF.RVATRON COAMTSSTON TO ONE HALF INCH MINIMUM.
8. FOR A CUT STRINGER SUPPORT, CONTACT ENGINEER FOR GUIDANCE.
9. SUBSTUTUTION OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR ANY TIMBER COMPONENTS IS SUBJECT TO
APPROVAL BY TRE OWNER AND ENGINEER
10. MATERIAL. DELIVERY, REFUSE AND DEBRIS COLLECTION, STORAGE AND PICKUP SHALL LROM THE
UPPER BANK UTILIZING THE EXISTING PATHWAY AND, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, THE COMPLETED
PORTIONS OF THE STAIRWAY.

THE SLOPED AREA.
12. OWING TO MINOR TOPOGRAPHIC VARIATIONS THE STAIRWAY STRINGERS MAYBE BEST FITTED TO
THE SLOPE WHERE NECESSARY IN GENERAL ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLAN. CARRY STRINGER A
NO. OF TWO FEET BELOW BEACH GRADE FOR FUTURE BEACH TEIRAIN ALTERATION
13. EACH DAY THE SITE SHALL BE CLEANED OF DEBRIS SUCH AS DISCARDED WOOD MATERIAL. THE
REFUSE SHALL BE TAKEN OUT OF THE BUFFER ZONE. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO
REGULAR INSPECTION.
14. POSTS SHALL BE 6 x 6 OR 8 x 8 INCH POSTS 10 FT. NO. LENTIS, CCA PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT. MLN.
5 FT, COMPACTED EMBEDMENT
15. POST SUPPORT INSTALLATION SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY SUITABLE POST HOLE CORER, POST
BACKFH.L SHALL BE HAND TOOL COMPACTED IN 4 INCH LIFTS SUBJECT TO INSPECTION FOR PROPER
FIXITY FOR CABLE HAND GUARD. EXCESS SOIL SHALL BE REMOWD OR RAKED INTO THE SURFACE
VEGETATION.
16. THE STONE STEPS SHOWN SHALL BE NATIVE GRANITE SLABS RANGING IN WEIGHT FROM 150 TO 250
LBS. SLABS SHALL HAVE A SUITABLE THICKNESS TO CONSTLTUTf A MAXIMUM 8 INCH STEP RISER
AND SHALL BE DRY LAID FIRMLY AND SECURELY INTO PLACE AS STEPPING STONES.
17. ANY AREA DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION FOOT TRAFFIC OR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY SHALL BE
PLANTED WITH AMERICAN BEACH GRASS AT SUITABLE TIMES OF THE SEASON.
