Re: Board of Health Hearing
Town of Yarmouth Swimming Pool Regulation— Indoor Swimming Pool
Dear Mr. Patel:
This letter is to advise you that at the Board of Health meeting on Monday November 21 , 2016
at 5:00 PM,the Board will hold a discussion regarding the drowning in the indoor swimming
pool at the Ambassador Inn & Suites on Sunday, October 23, 2016.
During the Department review of the incident, it was learned that you were the only safety
person on duty but left the premise for a short period of time. The Board of Health Regulation,
Safety Training Program for semi-public pools requires a minimum of two people certified with
CPR and First Aid, and at least one must be on premise while the pool is open. The regulation
also requires a sign, no swimming alone, which was not noted on the pool signage.
You must inform the Board the steps that were taken by hotel staff regarding the drowning
incident, and the additional steps you plan to ensure safety at the pool. You must address swim
club membership, and the procedures for members and guests to not swim alone as required
by the above Board of Health Regulation.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the Health Department.
Sincerely,

u . Murphy, H
