� Regulations of the Massachusette Sanitary Code: Article VI, Minirsun Standards for Pools; acxl Town Amendments to Article VI.
1. All items approved on the construction plan are of peztnanent nature ar� need not be checked at each inspection.

2. [�'ALTH: Shower and health signs posted which state that hathers take showers; no sick ar infected bathers;
I T no glass or dangerous objects; and children ur►der the age of 16 must be accanpanied .by an aduit swiamer within.

I 3. CDtTIFIID POOL OPERATORS: Must staf� at least two (2) certified operators in First Aid, Water Safety, C.P.R., and
have one available on the pre:r►ises during pool operating hours.
4. SAFETY: One shepards crook and one ring buoy with adequate rop,e for each 2,000 sq. ft. water surface. One pool
divider for shallow end w.ith floatation buoys.
5. FIRST AID: First aid kit (see back), emergency telephone rnmbers posted, local police, state police, fire
departr�ie�tt, and several available physicians. Telephone available or other means of cemnunication {no+ pay
station).
6.' REl00RDS: Written records available of daily operation of the pooi, including attendance, water tests, chenicals
used, hours of operation, backwashing and other information required.
7. RF)CIRQILATION - FILTRATION: Purification system capable of maintaining quality of water, turnover every $ hours,
maximim filtration rate 2-3 gal. per min. per eq. ft. filter. Disinfection equigc�ent finely adjustable. Flow
meters antl pressure gauges are required.
_ 8. DEF1H MAitKINGS: Must be clearly marked on deck and wall of pool. Markings muat be displayed for every foot down
to a depth of 5 feet, and then at appropriate places of not more than 25 foot intervals aroucd the deep portion of
the pooL
9. DIVING BQARD6: Rigidly constructed, properly anchored, braced for heaviest load, souxxl no splinters or cracks, �
non elip surface. Not over 10 feet above water level ac►d at least 13 feet unobatructed head roan.
_�10. WATER SOI,1R(,�: Water used in any sa+irnning pool shall be fran a source approved by the Health Departmer_t.
�11. $ACfFItIOiAGI�AL (,�ALITY: Health D'epartment shall cause water samples to be analyzed as considered necessary.
Quality shall meet the USPHS drinking water sta�dards. Untreated water not over 2,400 (�PN Goliform.
12. CI�MICAL STqimARD6: Treated with chlorine or other effective method. Tests taken at least 4 times a day
as requirsd by Health Department. Free Chlorine 1.0 - 3.0, pH 7.2 - 7.8, Branine 2.0 - 6.0,
Total Alkalinity 50 - 150 p.p.m. and Canbined Chlorine less than 2 p.p.m. are xequired once a day.

a time instr�nent for t�e use of bathers.
17• IIVCLpS(1RE: A 6 foot high fence in accordance with M.G.L. c.140 with seif-closing and aelf-latching gates or doors.
Indoor pool must also be restricted in a similar manner. Pool entrances and eacits to be locked during
non-operating hours.
18• q,OSURE: Operator to close pool when water does not meet the requfranents of this code. Operator understands
their responBibilities in regarda to operating a public/semi-public swimning pool.
