GENERAL NOTES: (1) Building construction is entirely non—combustible. The building will be occupied by not more than a -class IV commodity stored on a rack under 10'-0 (2) The sprinkler system design Is based on the requirements of NFPA-13, /21)02 edition. The occupancy 1s considered to be Ordinary Hazard Group 2 A design density of 0.20 gpm/sq. ft. over 1500 sq. ft. is required. The operating area will need to be incereased by 30% due 'to the fact that it is a dry system. The final design area will be 1950 sq. ft. (3) All equipment and materials shall be UL Listed and factory Mutual Approved. (4) Pipe: 1" to 1 1/2" inclusive shall be schedule 40 internally/externally galvanized with cast threaded galvanized fitting. Pipe 2 and larger shall be schedule 10 internally/externally galvanized with rolled groove couplings and drill -in type mechanical tee fittings. Fittings on schedule 10 pipe are not required to be galvanized. Gaskets shall be rated for dry pipe system use. Welded outlets are not to be used. (5) The installation shall meet all requirements of the Massachusetts Building Code, 6th edition, the owner's insurance carrier, the building and fire departments of the towns of Hyannis and Barnstable. The installation shall clso meet the requirements of the fire department and water department of the town of Yarmouth. (6) This is preliminary drawing for use in obtaining a building permit. Once the project is approved a new flow test and hydraulic calculation will need to be conducted. The existing building will need to be surveyed, and the location of the express pipe will need to be verified. This drawing is provided to show the extent of the project, and the intent to provide sprinkler protection throughout the new addition.
