Hi Amy Will review the elevations The existing septic tank is a very strange animal The construction unlike I've only seen '
a couple of time in 50 years I've run into this type in Wareham and Dave has also seen it there and around Carver and ;
Rochester There is a built in conc baffle that is a good foot and a half out into the tank from the inside end with a '
circulation hole about two feet plus down in the baffle One inlet comes in at above the usual tank height The other ;
comes in below the other inlet but still maintains the four foot depth to the inside bottom of the tank Unusual but
effective The tank for a multi family was reasonably clean Some sludge isolated in the baffle compartment and zero '
scum and sludge in the rest of the tank Thanks Ed

Hi Ed-
Just reviewed this plan and have a couple of comments to address:
1. The breakout elevation of the leach facility is the top of the leach unit (EL. 10.27). This '
will require the top of the polyliner to be at EL. 10.27 and be installed around the entire
leach facility to meet breakout. Your regrading contours will need to be adjusted to
accommodate the higher liner and still meet the 3:1 slope. You will probably also need
to raise the wall by one tie to meet the 3:1 slope unless you bring the top of wall up to
the same elevation as breakout.
2. The 2 inverts from the foundations on page 2 are shown with a 6" difference into the
septic tank. Is one pipe entering the existing septic tank 6" higher than the other
pipe? If so, what is the total capacity of the tank and was one of the tank inlets altered to
accommodate the 6" difference?
3. Page 3, General Notes#14 needs to be altered to state Polyliner to be placed around
entire leaching area.
- I have attached a copy of the marked up plan for your review. Please call or email with
questions.
 Thanks, Amy
