Gentlemen:
According to the"Zip" system manufacturer,over driving the fasteners as shown in the photographs
reviewed does not reduce the system's effectiveness provided that new fasteners are installed in
accordance with the following referenced documents:
AF&PA Wood Frame Construction Manual (WFCM)
ICC Standard for Residential Construction in High Wind Regions(ICC 600)
In my opinion,once the proper nailing has been installed,the"Zip" system panel installation will meet
accepted structural engineering practice in their ability to support the live,dead,and wind loads
required by the 9th Edition of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Building Code.
Please advise if additional information is needed.
