George, Herbert • Renkeinen, 'John Marchildon, Joseph Pandiscio, John Neylon It appearing that notice of said hearing has been given by sending notice thereof to the petitioner and all those owners of property deemed by the Board to be affected thereby, and that public notice of such hearing having been given by publication in the Cape Cod Times on March 9 and 16, 1978, the hearing was opened andheld on the date first above written. . Reason -for decision: Petitioner explained that in the near future he will- be forced to move from his present business location at East Main . Street,. Hyannis (actually in Yarmouth) and that since his family owns locus it is advantageous for him to relocate there. He intends to construct an esthetically acceptable building suf- ficiently large to store all his vehicles and equipment. . He pointed out that on two opposite corners to locus there are '- ' ' preexistent non-residential properties (one being Jennings Oil Com- pany and the other being the Town Highway Department Barbs) on a third opposite-. corner there are two residences both being for sale for the last few years with no sale being consumated. •' On the very j corner of Buck Island Road and Town Brook Road where,•locus exists Hthere is a long established transmission- repair shop... Petitioner ex- pressed a belief that though zoned residential this land was not desirable for a residence and was unique due to -its closeness to ex- isting businesses. He pointed out that it would be a hardship to - . The board found precedent in this area as it has given a permit or variance similar to this for land further down Town Brook Road. The Board feels, however, that every effort must be made to prevent an unsightly clutter,of vehicles and equipment so voted to grant a conditional variance. Therefore, the Petition for Approval is granted with condition that all vehicles and equipment left on the premises over night be stored -- inside the building on the site. ..
