Dear Mr. Murphy:

RE: YARMOUTH — Mid Cape Hoop School
Enclosed is a Report of Inspection generated as a result of an inspection of the Mid -Cape Hoop
School on August 8, 2000. Meghan Driscoll accompanied by the Camp Director, Paul Cormier inspected
the camp. The camp was operated at the Dennis -Yarmouth Regional High School.
The camp was found to be operating without a license from the board of health as required by
Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 140, Section 32A. Of concern is the lack of procedures for
reviewing the background of the staff, the failure to conduct CORI checks on the staff, no health care
consultant, and no written discipline or abuse/neglect policies.
Mr. Hamilton, a co -director, was informed by this office of the need to obtain a license for this
program about five weeks ago.
This program may not continue to operate without the requisite license.
Sincerely,
Howard S. Wensley, M.S., C.H.O.
