BOARD OF HEALTH
January 8, 1998
Mr. David Swift
10 Railroad Avenue
Yarmouthport, MA 02675
Dear Mr. Swift,
In response to your complaint called in on Monday, January 5, 1998, pertaining to the noise and odor
coming form Aardvark Cafe located on 134 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, I performed an inspection on
Tuesday, January 6, 1998 of this location.
During my inspection of the outside and inside of Aardvark Cafe, I found the exhaust system and air
conditioner cooling unit to be working appropriately, and the noise to be consistent with properly
functioning units. A food odor was apparent outside the building in some areas but was not
extremely strong or offensive. I found no health code violations pertaining to your complaint.
Aardvark Cafe is a regulated business that is located in an area zoned for business.
I have forwarded your concerns about the restaurant not having a sprinkler system to Captain Peter
Raiskio of the Yarmouth Fire Department.
If you have any questions or comments relative to this matter, please feel free to contact me at the
Health Office. I can be reached by calling (508)398-2231, ext. 241, Monday through Friday, during
business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thank you.
S'ncerely,
olleen E. Pelley
