MEMORANDUM
TO: Bruce Murphy, Health Director
FROM: James D. Brandolini, Building Commissione
DATE: February 28, 2008 *1
SUBJECT: 759 Route 28—Parkers River Resort Motel

HEALTH DEFT.
This is to serve as a follow-up to our conversations concerning the re -opening of the former
Yarmouth Motel Condominiums, which will be renamed Parkers River Resort (Motel).
As you are aware, this motel has been closed for a few years now and the property has been sold to a
new owner who is in the process of making renovations and significant improvements. Motels are
permitted, pursuant to the provisions of zoning bylaw Table 202.5, Use A7, B2, Footnote 24.
Footnote 24 sets a current limit of 3,553 motel rooms. It is my understanding this site was included
in this limit otal. Therefore, it may be re -opened as a matter of right, providing its guest stays do not
exceed the maximum allowable days, as provided in zoning bylaw Section 500—Transient definition..
The new owner will need to obtain the following permits:
• Annual Motel License —Board of Health
• Certificate of Use and Occupancy —Building Dept.
• Annual Certificate of Inspection —Building Dept.
• Swimming Pool Permit —Board of Health
• Sign Permit —Building Dept.
• Approval from the Fire Dept. for required fire retardant materials
• Building, Plumbing, Gas, Mechanical, and Electrical permits —Building Dept.
Please let me know if you have any questions concerning this matter.
