In accordance with M.G.L. c. 111, §§ 3 and 127A, as well as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (Department)
Regulations 105 CMR 435.00: Minimum Standards for Swimming Pools (State Sanitary Code, Chapter V), I conducted an
inspection of the Riviera Beach Resort on August 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. accompanied by Nicholas Gale, Community Sanitation
Program, Bruce G. Murphy, Director, Philip Renaud, Inspector, Yarmouth Board of Health, John Verity, General Manager and
you. Water test results and violations noted during the inspection are listed below:
WATER QUALITY
Water Test Results
Water testing was performed in accordance with 105 CMR 435.29 by the Community Sanitation Program (CSP), using a
Taylor DPD Test Kit # K-2006. Reagents used for testing are replaced on an annual basis. The following water test results,
except for the Hydrogen -Ion Concentration (pH), are recorded in parts per million (ppm).

Water Clarity Results
Water clarity is determined to be acceptable if a secchi disk placed on the bottom of the pool, at the deepest point, is clearly visible
from the sidewalks of the pool at all distances up to ten yards measured from a line drawn across the pool through said disk.

Observations and Recommendations
1. When ordering new chemicals used in the operation of the pool the Department recommends updating all MSDS sheets.
2. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a notice of recall for certain drain covers originally listed
as compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act. The Department recommends you contact the
manufacturer of your drain covers to ensure they have not been recalled and remain compliant with the Act.
3. At the time of the inspection the Department recommended securing all skimmer covers to the deck.
4. The Department recommended using plastic pallets to elevate chemicals off of the floor.
5. At the time of inspection the Department recommended closing all pools until such time as the chemicals are brought to
the regulatory limits.
This facility does not comply with the Department's Regulations cited above. In accordance with 105 CMR 435.42, the Yarmouth
Board of Health may inspect and issue correction orders to ensure that the violations noted in this report have been remedied.
