Helen-
Thanks for including me in your email chain. To clarify the changes required on the septic plan by our office based on
my notes during review of the original plan, the height of the system has not changed. The engineer was required to
design the system so that all fill needed around and over the system was maintained within the property lines which
resulted in a retaining wall along the front property line. Per our conversation this morning, our office typically approves
other types of retaining walls in addition to a railroad tie wall. A pin and block wall is another option for your clients to
consider if the railroad tie wall is not acceptable. I would recommend contacting your installer and engineer who can
provide you with other acceptable options. If the type of wall is changed, our office will need a detail of that change
from the engineer.
Please advise me of any other questions.
Thanks,Amy

Hi Perk,
The buyer was inticipating the new system would not rise greater than 9" above current grade, as per plans
shown and previous discussions. We need specifics on how the sytem will now change. I received vague
information that is could range anywhere from 14" to 2 feet and there was some mention of railroad ties. Please
advise as soon as possible and send along plans so that they can be shared with the buyer. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Helen Gaughran

,/ J t reviewed this one and the fill and slope towards the front property line does not meet the required 3:1 slope nor
he 5'swale required between the property line and the toe of the slope based on the existing contours
provided. Maybe some RR ties along the front property line?
Let me know what your solution is.
Thanks,Amy
