Dear Mr. Murphy,
As the owner of Parcel #X-43 located at 45 Mattakese Road,
West Yarmouth, I am concerned about the current plans for land fill on
Lot 6, also located on Mattakese Road.
The plans which I have seen call for a grading of the fill which will:-bxig
the land to a height of three feet above street level. It is my understanding
that the developer expects the run-off to be contained by the presence
of grass and other plantings on the lot.
Mattakese Road has many existing drainage problems. I am sure that
during a heavy rain, grading the property as planned will add to these
problems and directly impact my property.
The ideal time to take steps to alleviate future problems to abuttors
is during construction. A plan must be developed to insure that water run-
off will successfully be contained on the property itself.
It is evident in many other Cape locations that the means proposed by the
developer will not be successful during heavy rains. With no sewerage
system available, my neighbors and I will be severely impacted unless
additional provisions are made now to contain the run-off.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Yours truly
Helen C. Clory
