GENERAL NOTES
1.) ALL SYSTEM COMPONENTS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE W/17IT E 5 OF THE SANITARY CODE & ANY
APPLICABLE REGULATIONS.
2.) PRIOR TO BACK FILLING THE INSTALLATION, THE DESIGNER & HEALTH AGENT SHALL BE NOTIFIED FOR
INSPECTION.
3.) ANY ALTERATIONS OF THIS DESIGN MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DESIGNER & BOARD OF HEALTH, IN WRITING.
4.) SYSTEM IS NOT DESIGNED FOR A GARBAGE GRINDER.
5.) THE INSTALLER IS TO VERIFY THE LOCATION(S) OF UTILITIES, CESSPOOL(S) AND SEWER INVERTS PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION.
6.) ALL UNSUITABLE MATERIAL WITHIN 5 FT. IN ALL DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOIL ABSORPTION SYSTEM SHALL BE
REMOVED & REPLACED W/CLEAN, COARSE SAND.

12.) WHEREVER SEPTIC LINES CROSS WATER SERVICE LINES OR WHEN WATER SERVICE LINES COME WITHIN 10' OF
THE PROPOSED S.A.S.- PIPES SHALL BE CLASS 150 PRESSURE PIPE & SHOULD BE PRESSURE TESTED TO ASSURE
WATER TIGHTNESS. COORDINATE WITH LOCAL WATER DEPARTMENT.
13.) PLACE MAGNETIC MARKING TAPE OVER ALL COMPONENTS.

2.) Replace Orangeburg sewer lines back to original cast iron as needed. Install two-way sweeps with 4" PVC clean
outs (c/o) to grade between foundation and proposed septic tank per plan.
3.) Pump and fill existing cesspools per Title -5 abandonment procedure.
4.) A 5' soil over -dig to minimum El. 47.2 is required (Fine Sand). A soil suitability assessment is required prior to the
placement of Title -5 fill.
5.) One cubic foot of thrust blocking ((TB) is required at all 2"- force main angle points.
6.) Raise septic tank and pump chamber outlet covers to grade with bolted cast iron covers and rings. Raise septic
tank inlet cover, pump chamber inlet cover and dlstribudon box cover to wlthm 6 of fimShed grade. LeaChmg field
requires three inspection ports with control box covers to finished grade.
7.) Septic tank inspections: Effluent filter with smart alarm (filter extension handle to within l' of cover).
8.) Pump chamber: Extend inlet tee to within 1.0' off the floor of the chamber. Alarm controls are not to be connected
to the pump force main. Alarm controls are to be on a separate hanger or pole. Pump chamber is required to be water
tested' with Health Department and designer present. All electrical lines are to be set in conduit.
9.) Backfill to crown of SAS chambers with Title 5 clean granular sand (15.255 (3)). Backfill, loam and seed
construction impact areas. Mounded leaching area is to be covered in straw to prevent erosion.
In A final grade inspection is required prior is issuance of Certificate of Compliance.
