HomeMy WebLinkAboutUpdate Email Sept 2019 Grant, Kelly From:Mark Burgess <shorefrontconsulting@gmail.com> Sent:Friday, September 6, 2019 7:16 PM To:Grant, Kelly; 'Tom D' Subject:Re: 160 Mayflower Terrace Hi Kelly; I am retained by Tom to help figure this out. I've been on the site twice, and we've gone over some of the regulations to address what options we have. For the moment, the dock shows up in a 1971 aerial, which appears to be in the location it is in now. Sometime later it seems to have been moved to the location that was thought to be "previous", (closer to the property line) but may not be. This has led to a long delay and some confusion to sort out what we have, and then figure out what to do. I'm trying to sort out what permits exist for this, and then where does the dock go? Does it remain in it's existing position, or should it be moved, either to the "previous" position closer to the property line, or somewhere else that might meet the setbacks (if this is considered a "new" dock). All this is taking time I just don't have right now. You have our word that we are addressing this, but I need to take the time to figure out what permits might exist, and then I'd like to sit down with you to go over the options so we can come up with a design and filing for the work. I understand that we need to do this as soon as possible; I totally get it. The surveyor for this one will be Down Cape, unless I can find a plan with a previous surveyor on it. We can schedule the survey once I know that. And, if it is Down Cape, they are 6 weeks out just to do the survey. I know this has gone on too long; I get it. And now that I am officially involved, you have my word in writing that it will be addressed. Like 72 Mayflower Terrace, things have been moving slow. I have a design for that one, but am waiting for the shellfish survey results before I go to Waterways, and then the commission. I apologize for the delay; it seems no one (including me) can respond in a timely manner for things like this. Rest assured you have our attention. I'll contact you as soon as I have the information I need, which could be by the 19th. I do, though, have two hearings in Dennis on that night (ugh). I will get you what you need as soon as I am able. Please advise, Thank you. This will be on the September 19th Agenda for the Commission to discuss the next enforcement steps. Thanks for the update. Kelly, I am emailing you to inform you that I do not plan on attending the CC meeting tomorrow and would request an extension to file a NoI. I have hired Mark Burgess of Shorefront Consulting and we are not ready to present anything to the Commission as of now. Mark has some more 2 research and field work to complete before we will be ready to present any plans to the Commission. I apologize for the delay but we rented longer than I had expected this summer and I got started too late due to my oldest child going off to college. Mark is somewhat busy and has agreed to try to fit me in as soon as possible. I hope this is not a terrible inconvenience and feel free to reach out or call me if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Tom Dwyer 3
