ELECTRICAL NOTATIONS
General Contractor will be responsible for coordinating a meeting with the Electrical
Subcontractor to confirm final location for all exterior electrical panel boxes and meter prior
to commencement for wiring house. Final approval for boxes by Owner and Architect are
required.
Electrical Switches & Receptacles: Standard specification for all electrical switches & receptacles shall be
Leviton (unless otherwise noted). Color to be selected by Owner or Interior Designer. Provide Decora
switches, outlets, & dimmers (unless otherwise noted).
Gang Switches: Where three or less switches are ganged, they shall be placed in one box. Where four or
more switches are located together, they shall be stacked in groups of two or three.
Switch & Outlet Locations: Switches shall be placed at 54" to center line above floor or 44" above floor
at counter(s); wall receptacles shall be placed within base boards (coordinate location with Architect and
base profile) or 44" above floor at counter(s) (unless otherwise noted).
Electrical Grounding: All receptacles & switches shall be grounded. All wiring devices, fixtures, etc.,
provided with ground circuit screws mount in or to a grounded steel junction box.
Electrical Details: The Electrical subcontractor is required to interface electrical installation with
architectural details shown on the Architectural & Structural Plans.
Smoke Detectors: Per CABO, One & Two Family Dwelling Code, 316.1 - Smoke Detectors Required -
detectors shall be installed in each sleeping room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate
vicinity of the bedrooms & on each additional story of the dwelling, including basements & cellars but not
including crawl spaces & uninhabitable attics. Smoke alarms shall be ceiling or wall mounted. Detectors
shall meet UL Standard 268, & shall be wired to a 11Ov. branch circuit.
Exterior Lighting: Confirm exterior lighting locations & fixtures with Owner and/or Architects prior to
installation of fixtures.
Contractor shall install all work to meet existing conditions as found at the building site & to
accommodate the work of other trades. The Contractor shall be held responsible for the timely placement
of conduits in floor slabs before some are poured. Switch & outlet boxed shall be installed in walls &
partitions while same are under construction.
Telephone Service: The residence shall be pre -wired for telephone service to telephone outlets as located
on the drawings. Provide modular connector cover plate on each telephone outlet. Confirm system
requirements prior to pre -wire installation. Pre -wire for telephone utilizing Category 5 wire (minimum
standard) for computer data transmission via phone lines. All phone lines shall be home run to a central
panel location to be determined by Owner.
Exterior Electrical Boxes: Locate electrical disconnects & condensate lines behind A/C condenser units as
low on wall as possible. Confirm location with Architect prior to installation.
Specification: Electrical subcontractor shall be responsible for acquiring a Specification Document (when
provided for project). Subcontractor shall become familiar with all aspects of electrical specifications to
provide a complete project & comply with all code(s) requirements.

STRUCTURAL NOTES
1. All Concrete shall be standard weight and shall test at 4000 psi at 28 days of age, unless otherwise
noted. It shall contain a minimum of 5 1/4 sacks of cement per cu. yard and shall be in accordance with
the latest editions of ACI 301 and 318.
2. Reinforcing Steel shall be new billet ASTM A-615 grade 60, except grade 40 shall be used for beam
stirrups. Detail reinforcing and provide accessories in accordance with the latest ACI Manual of Standard
Practice for Detailing Concrete Structures. Unless noted otherwise where continuous reinforcing is
designated lap bottom bars 6 inches at centerline of supports and lap top bars 30—diameters midway
between supports. Provide standard 90 degree hooks at all top bars at discontinuous ends. Provide
corner bars at all discontinuous ends some number and size as outside beam bars and with a lap of
30—bar diameters each way.
3. Reinforcing Clearances See sections and details.
4. Place 10—mil Polyethylene Vapor Barrier beneath all beams and slabs at grade.
5. Welded wire fabric shall be ASTM A-185 WWF. It shall be provided in sheets and lap WWF a min. of
two wire spaces. Support the mesh with 2 1/2" high concrete bricks at 48" o.c. each way.
6. All Structural Steel shall be grade A-36.
7. All Lumber for framing shall be No. 2 Southern Yellow Pine or approved substitute, kiln dried. Provide
treated framing for sills at first floor.
