It would be a plant by plant application, not large area application. We use them for treating knotweed at our office twice per year and it’s working out well with no impact to adjacent plants. They like the look of the rosa rugosa and we have had very good success with this for erosion control in similar settings. It will take the owner a little time to coordinate the plan, your approval and scheduling the landscaper so they are scheduling the actual work for September. All of the plants they are considering are recommended for fall planting as well. I will add this back on the agenda and see if the Commission will review it under the previous request for extension. I assume we won’t receive the landscape/invasives management plan before the meeting? If not, are you able to update the permit plan to show an area of buffer plantings with a note on the plan that a landscape plan will be submitted to the CA for approval? I can then add it to the file as the approved plan. At the meeting on Thursday the Commission voted to deny the extension request. They would like a new NOI filed detailing the remaining work to be carried out and would like the property owner to address the unpermitted cutting of the bank vegetation. They also requested a six foot buffer zone of native plantings be added along the bank and suggested the applicant address bank erosion issues by managing invasive vegetation.
