Yarmouth Commons Apartment Buildings General The apartment buildings are wood construction two 3 story and one 2-story buildings. It is the intent to install in each building a fully analog addressable fire alarm system consisting of the following: • 1 Main fire alarm control panel at the main entrance. • 1 NAC power supply on each floor • Pull stations at each means of egress • Smoke detectors at all common corridors and stair landings • Monitor modules for sprinkler flow and tamper switches • Horn-strobes along all common corridors and public areas. • Low frequency horns in all sleeping rooms • An outdoor strobe for visual indication of building in alarm Equipment Addressable fire alarm system equipment shall be manufactured by Silent Knight. The system is comprised of a main FACP containing the SLC, digital communicator, and four supervised NAC circuits. 10 amp intelligent NAC power supplies provide supervised NAC circuits for the upper floors. All NAC circuits are calculated using the highest current rating of devices. Operational Sequence The activation of any automatic or manual alarm initiating device shall cause the following: 1. Sound the horns (temporal code) and flash the strobes until silenced. 2. Indicate the origin of alarm by device at the main control panel. 3. Activate the outdoor beacon on building of incident until silenced. 4. Activate fan dampers/shutdown on alarm. 5. Recall elevator to primary or alternate floor 6. Transmit signals to a central station as selected by owner. Activation of any control valve or low pressure switch shall cause a supervisory signal to sound at the FACP, indicate the specific device on the display, and transmit status to the central station. Supervisory signals shall be non-latching unless directed otherwise. Activation of the main sprinkler water flow shall also cause the exterior bell to sound for the duration of the water flow event. This building does not have a sprinkler system. Equipment Only local smoke detectors are to be installed in this building and interlocked with HVAC system for shut down.
