Subject:RE: Violation Notice 355 Great Island Rd
Hi Brian
Thanks for contacting me. The dock was originally approved for a 96 SF float and in about 2009/2010 the floats were
swapped out for two 8’x16’ floats totally 256 SF.
The Order permitting the original construction of the dock was never closed out with a Certificate of Compliance as
required as a condition of the permit. This is to ensure the work was completed according to the approved plan. The
property owner will need to request the certificate of compliance.
The property owner can file a Notice of Intent to keep the current floats, however the commission is not likely to
approve this request as the floats are larger than the maximum allowed size of 200 SF. The original float size of 96 SF
was approved due to the small size of this waterbody. They may allow one of the existing floats to remain rather than
reverting to the original float size.
In addition, The Ch91 license issued by the state shows a 6x16’ float so the current configuration does not match the
license plan.
My suggestion would be that you file a request with the Commission to maintain one 8x16’ float and if that is approved,
file the request for certificate of compliance.
This item will be on September 17 meeting agenda for the Commission. I would suggest you attend that to provide the
Commission with the plan for resolving that matter.
Thanks for your attention to this.

Dear Kelly Grant,
I was the builder of the home located at 355 Great Island Road in 2009 and have received a copy of the violation notice
regarding the pier/dock at this location from the owner Mr. Micozzi. My records show that there was one float at the
end of the pier and that I recall having a conversation with the owner and the company who services the dock about
adding a second float, however I do not recall what had transpired. Mr. Micozzi has asked that I follow up with this
matter with you and to find a way to rectify the situation.
The violation notice states in section 5 that we could, a.) remove the additional float or b.) file a notice of intend
requesting approval of the current structure.
I would like to file a letter of intent to keep the float if possible and would need some direction from you as to how to
move forward. I had stopped by the Town Offices today to see if I could meet with you however I am not sure if this is
possible due to the Virus..?
I have attached my contact information below for you and I look forward to hearing from you soon . Thank you in
advance for your help with this matter.
Best regards,
Brian Rodoalph
