Proposals to repair damage irom any caus€ must be analyzed using the formula shown above. 4. Any pmposed improvements or rspairs to a post-FIRM building must be evaluated to ensure that the improvements or repairs comply with ,loodplain management regulations and to ensure that the improvements or repairs do not alter any aspect ofthe building that would make it non-compliant. 5. Aherations to and repairs of designated historic str-uc-tures m8y be granted a varianc€ or be exempt under file substantial improvement definfion) provided the work will not preclude continued designation as a "historic struc{ure." 6. Any costs associated with dirBctly conecting hgahh, sanitary, and safety code violations may be excluded fom the cost of improvement.
