But, if it would make any difference, I did want to add that there was an existing sand fence there that disappeared over the winter before we closed on the purchase of the house. Many of the posts are still there. My understanding is that this was a big sandfence project that was approved and completed in 2015. The MESA is administered by the Division, and prohibits the Take of state-protected species, which includes actions that “in reference to animals…harm…kill…disrupt the nesting, breeding, feeding or migratory activity…and in reference to plants…collect, pick, kill, transplant, cut or process…Disruption of nesting, breeding, feeding, or migratory activity may result from, but is not limited to, the modification, degradation, or destruction of Habitat” of state-listed species (321 CMR 10.02). Hello, I am applying with the conservation commission to install a sand fence on the beach at my property located on Nantucket Sound.
