Hi Kelly,
I am not 100% sure but my understanding is that the NOI was associated with the previously-planned septic upgrades.
The excavation will likely remain within the basement; however, we will know for sure upon further investigations. In
the immediate future, we are not planning excavations on the exterior.
Thank you,
Navpreet

Hi Navpreet
Strangely, the Conservation Commission just closed the hearing for an NOI at this property yesterday and this was not
mentioned. During the hearing we asked for the wetland delineation to be revised to bring the salt marsh line
significantly further landward so the monitoring wells will likely be well within 100 feet. The plan is currently being
updated to reflect this. Please note there is also a regulatory coastal bank running right behind the structure. The
wetland regulations do exempt temporary activities in the buffer, including the installation of monitoring wells, however
it sounds like there may be additional excavation activity required that may need further review.
Can you give me any further information of the likely extent and location of the excavation area?
I have copied Tim Sears from the Building Dept and Jon Sawyer from the Fire Dept for their input.
Thank you

Hi Rosa,
I just left you a voicemail regarding permitting requirements for the referenced property. An oil leak occurred at the
property in early November and we are looking to start remediation activities in near future, which would include partial
slab removal for the excavation of oil-impacted soil/groundwater. A structural support plan may be developed in future,
if needed, depending on the extent of soil removal.
Kelly, we would likely need to install monitoring wells near the building footprint, likely 100 yards away from the
wetlands. Are there any specific permitting/notification requirements?
Any guidance on the need for permits would be appreciated. Feel free to call my cell.
Thank you,
Navpreet
