OLD KING'S HIGHWAY HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMITTEE
WAIVER OF 45-DAY DETERMINATION
The applicant/applicant's agent understands and agrees that due to the current declared
National and State public health emergencies the determination of our Application for a
Certificate of Appropriateness/Demolition/Exemption may not be made within 45 days of the
filing of such application.
The applicant agrees to extend the time frame within which a determination is to be made as
required by the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Act.
SECTION 9-Meetings, Hearings, Time for Making Determinations
"As soon as convenient after such public hearing; but in any event within forty-five (45) days
after the filing of application, or within such further time as the applicant shall allow in
writing, the Committee shall make a determination on the application. "

Carriage Barn at 378 Main Street Yarmouth Port.
Owners Neil & Cynthia Musante
The existing carriage barn has been in a leaky and dilapidated condition since before we bought the
property in 2004. We wish to restore it, and make it a functional two car garage. Proposed changes to
the exterior are as follows:
Rear of the structure: (this side is only visible from Winter Street)
Currently shows two bump outs and one lean-to. The bump out on the right opens into the carriage barn
and provides the depth necessary to garage a full-sized car. The bump out in the middle was an old,
freestanding outhouse, once located elsewhere on the property that was at some point attached to the
back of the carriage barn. The lean-to on the left is filled with old, rotted wood. It does not open into the
carriage house.
We propose to move the old outhouse from the back of the structure to the right side of the carriage barn
and turn it into an entry way.
We would like to eliminate the lean-to structure and extend the right side bump out the full length of the
carriage barn.
We would like to add three Anderson Awning type windows 20" x 24" (AWN2018) with grills attached to
the left, middle and right sides of the extended bump out.
Add a 24" x 18" non-opening window sash to the cupola to provide light.
Left side of the structure: (not visible from any road)
Replace the existing window with an Anderson 400 series double hung, 12 over 12 grill permanently
attached, and move it to the upper part of the structure.
Add a low lean-to structure to run the full length of the left side for storage of trash cans, lawn furniture,
firewood etc. This would only be accessible from the doors on the outside. It would not open into the
carriage barn.
Right side of the structure: (visible from Winter Street)
Replace the existing window with an Anderson 400 double hung 12 over 12 grill permanently attached,
and move to where the small upper window now exists.
Place the outhouse from the rear of the structure on this side where the 12 over 12 window currently
exists. Put a small Anderson Awning type window 20" x 24" (AWN2018) in the side of the outhouse.
Front of the Structure: (visible from 6A and Winter Street)
Add a 32 x 80" door to the front of the outhouse to create a new entrance to the barn. Include an
Anderson storm door (forest green).
Replace the two existing Carriage house doors which are currently 8' by 8' with a single 16' by 7' overhead
door in the style of the existing doors. (photo and drawing attached).
Add a 24" x 18" non-opening window sash to the front of the cupola for light
General:
Paint colors of the window sashes, doors will be Black Forest Green,trim will be Revere Pewter, to match
main house- see attached photo).
Siding will be cedar shingles. Roof will be asphalt shingles(as existing).
