One question - You list "Removal of dead brush as permitted" Is this dead undergrowth? How extensive is this work? > > Thanks > > Kelly Grant > Conservation Administrator > Town of Yarmouth > 508-398-2231 Ext 1288 > kgrant@yarmouth.ma.us > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Mary Ellen Pierce \[mailto:piercehouse@comcast.net\] > Sent: Sunday, June 6, 2021 6:44 PM > To: Grant, Kelly <KGrant@yarmouth.ma.us> > Subject: Trees > > Attention! The person doing the work will be Corey LaBelle, of Beach Point Tree Service from Sandwich. Phone is 508 280 4065. He suggested dividing the work into 2 parts. First part would be done the end of June and would consist of trimming of hardwood trees, multiple areas of broken branches, branches on wires etc. If I understood you correctly, I can do that without formal permission from CC. Second part would be on the pine trees and done in January when pitch is not running. He said to leave those 2 pine trees in the upper part of the yard, just trim dead branches. He did agree about removing the large pine leaning towards my neighbor’s house, that one has active turpentine beetles in it. I don’t think you and I looked at this other part of the yard but there’s a ~6 ft wide path between my house and neighbor’s leading to the street. There are 3 pine trees there in poor condition, 2 with active beetles in them. He said waiting until the colder weather would avoid spreading the beetles to other trees for one thing. So I don’t know how you want to proceed this. Can you sign off on this now once I provide you info on what I plan to put in to replace the 4 being removed? Or should I reapply later in the year. I am still not clear about how to replace the trees. None of these 4 trees are near the wetland part, it seems odd to me that if I take out a tree not near the wetlands then I have to put in another tree in an area that is already pretty crowded with vegetation. Please advise how you want me to proceed with this. Thanks Mary Ellen Pierce 1
