HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-1116-Invitation-to-Bid_Rev_1Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School January 19, 2021 Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District 100% Construction Documents Perkins Eastman DPC, project #71011 DOCUMENT 00 1116 INVITATION TO BID 1 of 2 DOCUMENT 00 1116 INVITATION TO BID PRE-QUALIFIED SUB TRADES ONLY The Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District, the Awarding Authority, invites bids for the Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School project in the town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by the Architect, Perkins Eastman, DPC, 20 Ashburton Place, Boston, Massachusetts, 02108. The Project includes the construction of a new 185,500 Square Foot New Middle School on the shared site of the Dennis Yarmouth High School and the Station Avenue Elementary School; the estimated construction cost is approximately $92,982,076. Sealed bids for the trades designated below shall be filed with the Awarding Authority at the time specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Awarding Authority. General bids shall be filed electronically with the Awarding Authority at the time specified in section 00 2113 Instructions to Bidders thru Project Dog (www.projectdog.com). At this time bids will be publicly opened and forthwith read aloud. Each general bid shall be on the form provided by the Awarding Authority and accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount of five (5) percent of the amount of the bid. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Awarding Authority. Bid Bonds shall be a) in a form satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, b) with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth and, c) conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the bid. Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School January 19, 2021 Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District 100% Construction Documents Perkins Eastman DPC, project #71011 DOCUMENT 00 1116 INVITATION TO BID 2 of 2 A Performance and Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Awarding Authority in the amount of 100% of the contract and from a surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required of the successful bidder. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available after 2 PM on January 26, 2021 at Project Dog - www.projectdog.com (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested). Contract Documents may be examined, at the following locations after January 26 at 2 PM: 1. Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District Main Office 296 Station Ave Yarmouth, MA 02664 2. Project Dog 18 Graf Street Suite 8 Newburyport, MA 01950 A pre-bid conference will be held virtually on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2 PM to respond to questions. The invite for the virtual walkthrough will be distributed to all plan-holders by noon on February 1st, the invite will also be posted on the Project Dog website. Bidders are cautioned to carefully examine the Contract Documents and the documents relating to existing conditions. Attention of all bidders is specifically directed to the requirements of the Supplemental General Conditions as well as the requirement of prevailing wages, which is incorporated in the Contract Documents. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended and Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 - 27b inclusive and Section 44A - 44I inclusive. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development. The Awarding Authority will reject bids when required to do so by the above-referenced General Laws. In addition, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any bid if it determines that such bid does not represent the bid of a person competent to perform the work as specified or that less than three such bids were received and that the prices are not reasonable for acceptance without further competition.
