SITE FURNISHINGS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Drawings and General Provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary
Conditions and Division 01 Specification section, apply to work of this section.
B. Related Sections: The following sections contain requirements that relate to this
section.

1.2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A. The scope of work includes providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to
complete the work as indicated on the drawings and as specified herein.
B. The principal work of this section includes, but may not be limited to, the following:
1. Bike Rack
2. Flag Pole
3. Decorative/Removable Bollard
4. Litter and Recycle Receptacle
5. Outdoor Table and Chairs
6. Picnic Table
7. Ornamental Bench A and B and C
8. School Garden Planter

1.3 WARRANTY
A. Provide Manufacturer’s minimum of a two (2) year warranty against structural
failure, material failure and manufacturing defects covering all levels of warranty
for the equipment and components.
B. Warranty shall spell out what it does not cover.
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Manufacturer’s warranties shall pass to the Owner and certification made that the
product materials meet all applicable grade trademarks or conform to industry
standards and inspection requirements.
B. The installation of the Site Furnishings shall be by Contractor with a minimum of
five (5) years of experience on similar projects. Evidence of this experience
shall be submitted to the Owner’s Representative for review and approval.
1.5 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit shop drawings and product data under provisions of Division 01 for all
manufactured/fabricated items. All submittals must be prior to fabrication and/or field
installation work.
1. Shop drawings shall include plans, details, elevations and specifications and
shall indicate profiles, sizes, dimensions, connection attachments, size and
type of fasteners, accessories, and color and finish as indicated in these
specifications and the plans.
2. Submit manufacturers printed product literature, specifications and data
sheets.
3. Clearly indicate on the shop drawings any deviations from the plans and
specifications.
B. Submit Contractor Qualifications as required under Quality Assurance section stated
herein.
C. Submit warranty information of all manufactured/fabricated items as required under
Warranty section stated herein.
D. Submit samples showing texture, finish and range of colors of all materials.
Samples will establish the standard by which materials provided will be judged.
E. Submit drawings and instructions of manufacturers/fabricators installation
requirements.
F. Submit stamped shop drawings by a Structural Engineer currently registered in the
state where the project is located for footings for all work in this Section. Drawings
shall indicate approved materials in this Section.
G. Submit material test reports from a qualified testing agency indicating and

interpreting test results for compliance with requirements indicated herein, based
on comprehensive testing of current materials.
H. LEED Submittals:
1. Document FSC Certification for all wood products that contribute to
credit achievement by providing the following:
a. Itemized vendor invoices for FSC-certified products.
b. Chain-of-Custody (COC) certificates. Every entity that
processes or trades FSC-certified material before it is shipped to the
project site must have FSC CoC certification. On-site installers of
FSC-certified products must have CoC certification only if they
modify the products off the project site.
2. Complete “LEED Materials Documentation Sheet” with MRc3 Option 2
information for wood products installed in the building.
3. Provide manufacturers’ product documentation that includes recycled
content claims for the products contributing towards compliance. Claims
must conform to the definition in ISO 14021-1999, Environmental Labels
and 4. Declarations, Self-Declared Environmental Claims.
4. Complete "LEED Materials Documentation Sheet" with MRc3 Option 2
information for products with recycled content installed in the building.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. All equipment, unless otherwise indicated, shall be furnished, assembled and
installed by the contractor.
B. Deliver to site, store and protect products under provisions of Division 1.
C. Installation Documentation, Packing List and Maintenance Kits shall be supplied by
the manufacturer for each component.
D. Do not store paint, paint additives or cleaners at site.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 Any manufacturer’s names and/or model numbers identified herein are intended to assist
in establishing a general level of quality, configuration, functionality, and appearance
required. This is NOT a proprietary specification and it should be noted that “or
equivalent” applies to all products denoted herein. It is understood that all manufacturers
will have minor variations in configuration, appearance, and product specifications and
such minor variations shall not eliminate such manufacturers as an equivalent. It is the
intent of this specification to encourage open and competitive involvement from multiple
manufacturers that are able to supply similar products.
A. LEED Requirements
1. Wood products that are not reused, salvaged, or recycled must be
certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council.

2. Provide products manufactured and extracted within 100 miles of the
project site whenever possible.
2.2 BIKE RACK
A. Bike Rack shall be aluminum and curved. Finish shall be powdercoat. Color shall be
Silver. Bike Racks shall be surface mounted with stainless steel tamper proof
hardware.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Maglin 1600 Series SC bike rack-basis of design
2. Madrax
3. Dero
4. Or equivalent.
2.3 FLAG POLE
A. Flag Pole shall be cast aluminum with a clear anodized aluminum finish. Height shall
be 30’. Flagpole shall be fitted with an internal halyard. Flagpole shall be able to
withstand a minimum wind speed of 120 MPH without the flag. Pole shall be
manufactured as a single piece or shall have a seamless joint and a spun
aluminum flash collar. Owner to supply 8’x12’ flag.
B. Contractor shall coordinate downlight with electrical plans.
C. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Concord Industries
2. American Flagpole
3. The Flagpole Company
4. Or equivalent
2.4 DECORATIVE/REMOVABLE BOLLARD
A. Bollards shall be minimum 6” diameter and minimum 32” high steel bollards and
shall withstand vehicular forces. Finish shall be Powder coated Silver. Bollard shall
be mounted with steel pipe set in concrete footing for use as a barricade.
Removable Bollards of the same style and Manufacturer as the decorative bollard.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Landscape Forms- Model- Annapolis Bollard -basis of design
2. Reliance Foundry
2. Peterson Manufacturing
4. Or equivalent
2.5 LITTER RECEPTACLE
A. Receptacle shall be steel/wood with minimum 32-gallon capacity, with hinged,
lockable side door, and rain top. Color and finish shall be Silver powder-coated.
Wood type shall be a tropical hardwood. Receptacle shall be surface-mounted and

all mounting hardware shall be stainless steel tamper-proof hardware. Ornamental
Litter and Recycling Receptacles shall be from the same manufacturer.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Dumor Inc. – Model 474 with BT top - basis of design
2. Victor Stanley, Inc.
3. Anova
4. Or equivalent
2.6 RECYCLING RECEPTACLE
A. Receptacle shall be steel/wood with minimum 32-gallon capacity, with hinged,
lockable side door, and rain top. Wood shall be a tropical hardwood. Color and finish
shall be Silver powder-coated with Recycling Decal. Receptacle shall be surface-
mounted and all mounting hardware shall be stainless steel tamper-proof hardware.
Ornamental Litter and Recycling Receptacles shall be from the same manufacturer.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Dumor Inc. – Model 474 with RC2 Label - basis of design
2. Victor Stanley, Inc.
3. Anova
4. Or equivalent
2.7 OUTDOOR TABLE AND CHAIRS
A. Outdoor table and chair assembly shall have steel tubing table frame with steel or
aluminum seat frames. The table top shall be a minimum of 42” in diameter and the
tables’ overall diameter including seat-backs shall not be less than 82”. All seats
shall be perforated steel backless. All table tops shall be perforated steel. Tables
shall be surface-mounted using stainless steel tamper proof hardware. All tables
shall have a minimum of 6 seats except for ADA accessible tables which shall seat 5.
Clear knee space for ADA accessible tables must extend 19” from table edge and
center pedestal. ADA accessible seating must accompany for a minimum of 5% of
available seats. Finish shall be powder coated. Color shall be Silver.
B. Acceptable Manufacturers include the following:
1. Landscape Forms – Model No. Carousel
2. Forms & Surfaces – Model No.Tangent Table
3. Urban Park Site Furnishings – Model No. Fairmont
2.8 PICNIC TABLE
A. Outdoor tables shall by 5’-6” long. Picnic table and bench shall be surface mounted.
Color shall be powder-coated Silver. Picnic table shall be surface mounted using
tamper proof stainless steel hardware

2.9 ORNAMENTAL BENCH A, B & C
A. Bench “A” shall be wood bench with steel frame. Wood shall be a tropical hardwood
and frame shall be powder coated steel. Color shall be Silver. Bench shall have a
minimum 20-year limited warranty. Bench shall be surface mounted using tamper
proof stainless steel hardware.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Dumor – Model 472 basis of design.
2. Landscape Forms
3. Anova
4. Or equivalent.
C. Bench B shall be a curved 18’ wood bench with aluminum frame with back. Wood
shall be tropical hardwood. Frame shall be solid cast aluminum with Silver
powdercoat finish. Bench shall be surface mounted using tamper proof stainless steel
hardware.
D. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Landscape Forms- Link - Compact - basis of design.
2. Anova-Infinity
3. MMcite-Landscape Compact
4. Or equivalent
E. Bench C shall be curved 14’ backless wood bench with aluminum frame. Wood shall
be tropical hardwood. Frame shall be solid cast aluminum with Silver powdercoat
finish. Bench shall be surface mounted using tamper proof stainless steel hardware.
F. Acceptable manufactures include the following
1. Landscape Forms- Link -basis of design
2. Anova-Infinity
3. MMcite-Landscape Compact
4. Or equivalent
2.10 RAISED PLANTER
A. Standard raised planter material shall be composite to the lines and dimensions
shown in the details.
B. ADA raised planter shall be handicap accessible allowing for a 19” clear base.
Material shall be composite to the lines and dimensions shown in the details.
C. Contractor shall submit shop drawings showing design, material, hardware, layout
and dimensions.
2.11 SHADE STRUCTURE

A. Shade structure shall include steel post and frames. Roof shall be metal and style
shall be sloped and rectangular in shape. Shelter shall be 12’x22’. Roof color shall
be Green. Post and frame color shall be Silver.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Poligon- Hip Roof rectangular shelter-basis for design
2. Or Equivalent
C. Contractor shall submit shop drawings showing design, material, hardware, layout
and dimensions. Contractor shall submit structural plans for footings stamped by a
current licensed Structural Engineer in the state where the project is located.
2.12 METAL SCREEN
A. Screen shall be ¼” aluminum. All posts shall be 3”x3”. Attachment method shall be
“frame and hinge”. Finish shall be powder coated “sandstone”. Screen shall include
pattern design with Structure works pattern 019- basis for design.
B. Contractor shall submit shop drawings and samples showing design, material,
hardware, layout and dimensions. Contractor shall submit structural plans for
footings stamped by a current licensed Structural Engineer in the state where the
project is located.
C. Acceptable manufacturers include:
1. StructureWorks – Veil Screen Panel-basis for design
2. Or equivalent
2.13 ATHLETIC PLAYERS BENCHES
A. Players’ Benches shall range from 14.5’ to 15’ in length with backs. Color of seat,
back and frame shall be Silver. Portable players benches are as shown on the Plans.
Athletic Benches shall have a minimum 3-year warranty.
B. Acceptable manufacturers include the following:
1. Sportsfield Specialties – Model No. ATBBRPT
2. Wabash Valley – Model No. SG442P
3. Urbanscape – Model No. P00126I
4. SportsEdge – Pro Player bench with back
5. Or equivalent
2.13 WATER FOUNTAIN/FILLING STATION
A. Water fountain color shall be green and shall feature the following options:
1. Bottle Filling Station
2. Jug Filler
3. Water Drinking Fountain
B. Acceptable manufactures include the following:
1. Murdock Manufacturing -Model GYM74 Series- Basis for design.
2. Or equivalent
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 GENERAL

A. Installation shall conform to the lines and dimensions shown on the approved shop
drawings, where applicable, and the contract drawings.
B. Field stake locations of all mounted equipment in conformance with the plans for
approval by Owner’s Representative and the Landscape Architect. Owner’s
Representative and Landscape Architect may make field changes before approving
layout at no additional cost to the Owner.
C. Verify all dimensions in the field and check work by other trades for conformance with
the drawings before proceeding with the work. Report any discrepancies to the Owner
before proceeding.
D. Deliver to the site all items necessary for completion of installation.
E. All prefabricated site furnishings shall conform to the manufacturers'
recommendations for installation unless otherwise indicated.
F. Footings for Flag Pole, Metal Screen and Shade Structure shall be cast-in-place
concrete and as per the approved shop drawings stamped by a Registered Structural
Engineer in Massachusetts. Upon completion, poles shall be plumb and in proper
alignment.
G. Site Furnishings shall be surface mounted, unless otherwise specified herein, to
paving using manufacturer’s approved anchoring devices. Contractor shall coordinate
anchoring devices with pavement surfaces to ensure stable and secure mounting.
H. All furnishings shall be upon completion plumb and in proper alignment with adjacent
paving and structures.
