Drawings and General Provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification sections, apply to work of this section. B. Section 01 81 13a - LEED v4 Materials Reporting Form: Materials Tracking for Building Product Disclosure and Optimization credits 1.2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The scope of work includes providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the work as indicated on the drawings and as specified herein. B. This Section includes the following: 1. Subdrain installation including materials and installation. 1.3 QUALIFICATIONS A. Contractor shall have experience in the installation of sports field drainage. Contractor shall have performed installations on a minimum of five (5) similar designs. B. Subcontract for all athletic field work to a firm specializing in such work unless contractor is fully experi- enced and qualified. C Selected installer/ contractor shall employ a person certified by ASBA in the construction of natural grass athletic fields CFB-N. The contractor shall employ and maintain for the term of the contract an ASBA certified natural turf field builder on staff to ensure quality control in all aspects of a project con- ducted under this solicitation. Failure of the bidder to meet this requirement in its response will be deemed non-responsive. Credentials shall be submitted prior to beginning any work. PART 2 - PRODUCTS Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School January 19, 2021 Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District 100% Construction Documents Perkins Eastman DPC, project #71011 33 41 16 SUBDRAINAGE FOR ATHLETIC FIELD 2 of 3 2.1 Any manufacturer’s names and/or model numbers identified herein are intended to assist in establishing a general level of quality, configuration, functionality, and appearance required. This is NOT a proprietary speci- fication and it should be noted that “or equivalent” applies to all products denoted herein. It is understood that all manufacturers will have minor variations in configuration, appearance, and product specifications and such minor variations shall not eliminate such manufacturers as an equivalent. It is the intent of this specification to encourage open and competitive involvement from multiple manufacturers that are able to supply similar products. A. MATERIAL 1. Drain pipe shall be perforated, high density polyethylene material of vertical configuration. Drain pipe capacity shall be equivalent to that of a 2-inch round hdpe perforated drainage pipe. Acceptable systems shall be Turf Flow as manufactured by Hancor, Inc. or equivalent. 2. Sand backfill shall be a 1-2 mm coarse graded sand. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Examine areas to receive underdrains for: 1. Completion of excavation to elevations and slopes indicated. 2. Obstructions which would interfere with subdrainage system installation. B. Begin work only when conditions are corrected to the satisfaction of the Architect/Engineer. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. General 1. All equipment shall utilize turf type tires to minimize rutting and compaction. 2. Begin at the outlet and proceed continuously upgrade. 3. Slope of pipe shall be set to provide a constraint depth as shown on the plans. 5. All subdrainage piping shall be installed above irrigation see plans for details 6. Minimum laying depth is 10” from ground surface to top of tile, unless otherwise specified. 6. Construct subdrains in accordance with the details shown on the Plans. 7. Place drain tile with perforations facing downwards. 8. Utilize trenching equipment capable of trenching at 3” width, while simultaneously removing spoils and installing 2” diameter pipe in one operation to ensure no spoils are remaining on the surface that may contaminate the trenches. 9. EXCAVATION OF TRENCHES SHALL BE PERFORMED WITH SPECIALIZED TURF EQUIPMENT (TRENCH IT WHEEL TRENCHER WITH CONVEYOR SYSTEM OR EQUIVALENT) MAX WIDTH OF TRENCH SHALL BE 5". PROCESS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO INSTALLATION 10. Fill trenches to surface with specified sand while compacting at the same time to ensure no settling or sidewall cave-in occurs. B. Joints 1. Complete joints in accordance with pipe manufacturer’s instructions and per details shown on the plans. 2. All joints are to be constructed with manufactured fittings.
