Drawings and General Provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification sections, apply to work of this section. B. Section 01 81 13a - LEED v4 Materials Reporting Form: Materials Tracking for Building Product Disclosure and Optimization credits 1.2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The scope of work includes providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the work as indicated on the drawings and as specified herein. B. This Section includes the following: 1. Athletic Track trench drain including materials and installation. 1.3 QUALIFICATIONS A. Contractor shall have experience in the installation of sports field drainage. Contractor shall have performed installations on a minimum of five (5) similar designs. B. Subcontract for all athletic field work to a firm specializing in such work unless contractor is fully experi- enced and qualified. C Selected installer/ contractor shall employ a person certified by ASBA in the construction of natural grass athletic fields CFB-N. The contractor shall employ and maintain for the term of the contract an ASBA certified track and field builder on staff to ensure quality control in all aspects of a project con- ducted under this solicitation. Failure of the bidder to meet this requirement in its response will be deemed non-responsive. Credentials shall be submitted prior to beginning any work. Submit shop drawings and product data under provisions of Division 01 for all manufactured/fabricated items. All submittals must be prior to fabrication and/or field installation work. 1. Shop drawings shall include plans, details, elevations and specifications and shall indicate profiles, sizes, dimensions, connection attachments, size and type of fasteners, accessories, and color and finish as indicated in these specifications and the plans. 2. Submit manufacturers printed product literature, specifications and data sheets. 3. Clearly indicate on the shop drawings any deviations from the plans and specifications. B. Submit Contractor Qualifications as required under Quality Assurance section stated herein. C. Submit warranty information of all manufactured/fabricated items as required under Warranty section stated herein. D. Submit samples showing texture, finish and range of colors of all materials. Samples will establish the standard by which materials provided will be judged. E. Submit drawings and instructions of manufacturers/fabricators installation requirements. F. Submit shop drawings showing plan of total drainage system with center line dimensions and listing of all part numbers indicating sloped channel sections and inline catch basins. Shop drawings shall be coordinated with civil stormwater piping plans. Inform Civil Engineer of any plan discrepancies including connection invert elevations. G. Submit material test reports from a qualified testing agency indicating and interpreting test results for compliance with requirements indicated herein, based on comprehensive testing of current materials. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 Any manufacturer’s names and/or model numbers identified herein are intended to assist in establishing a general level of quality, configuration, functionality, and appearance required. This is NOT a proprietary speci- fication and it should be noted that “or equivalent” applies to all products denoted herein. It is understood that all manufacturers will have minor variations in configuration, appearance, and product specifications and such minor variations shall not eliminate such manufacturers as an equivalent. It is the intent of this specification to encourage open and competitive involvement from multiple manufacturers that are able to supply similar products. A. MATERIAL 1. Interlocking, polymer concrete modular trench drainage system 2. Channels Width 150 mm 3. Internal Width 100mm 4. Depth Varies as submitted in shop drawings per manufacturer 5. Length 1000mm 6. Compressive Strength 14,000 psi 7. All grates shall be ADA compliant with American Disabilities Act of 1990 section 4.5.4 8. Each channel unit shall feature full radius in trench bottom and male to female interconnect- ing ends 9. Grates shall be black plastic 11. Catch basins shall be polymer concrete 1000mm in length and include removable trash col- lectors. B. Approved Products 1. Aco Sport System 4000 PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Examine area of trench drains for: 1. Uniform sub-base 2. Obstructions which would interfere with trench drain system installation. B. Begin work only when conditions are corrected to the satisfaction of the Architect/Engineer. C. Protect trench drain from damage during installation of track asphalt and all athletic field work. Dam- age such as cracking spalling shall be removed and replace by contractor at no additional cost. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. General 1. Excavate are to accommodate trench drain and allow for 4” concrete encasement on mini- mum three (3) sides to provide necessary support. See plans for details. 2. Top of channel must be evenly aligned to surface of surrounding slab. 3. Start at catchbasin insert channels from above to allow ends to interconnect 5. Channels shall be placed on rebar basket per manufacturers recommendations to obtain fin- ished elevation. 6. All cutting will be made if required by concrete or masonry saw. 7. Protect Channel from concrete splash during concrete pour 8. Flush system and fully remove debris from channel after installation 9.
