The project is an approximately 7,440 square foot metal Warehouse Building with 6 bays, a free standing freezer and associated site improvements. It is very similar to the warehouse constructed at 373 Whites Path. I don’t have a lot of comments, but would suggest the following: 1. Site: o Include foundations plantings along the front to soften the façade facing the roadway. 2. Building: o Colors for the various building components need to be provided. I have asked for colors and cut sheets on materials from the applicant. o Windows in front look disproportionately small, even with shutters. o Consider a horizontal band along the front façade below the eaves to help bring down the height of the building. Sara, Chris and Jack are needed for quorum. Charlie is still in Florida and Dick cannot attend. Hard copies are in the box outside my office. The proposal does not look too bad to me and I am OK with the look of the front. The elevations show a much preferred pitched roof but the specs call for an unattractive flat rubber roof. I would also suggest trees be asked for on the westerly boundary behind the building as the 10 foot buffer here has no existing greenery. Although there are new trees on the adjacent site it is my personal opinion that the entire buffer should have them. Thanks. Morton Steel All steel panels are not the same—even though they may look it—and Morton’s steel is uniquely “Morton.” We roll-form our steel from .019" thick coil which is up to 25% heavier than the steel many other builders use, and Morton’s panels feature a unique Hi-Rib™design where the major ribs are 12" on center and 1" high with a gently rounded profile. This combination results in a very strong panel and contributes to the unique good looks and long-term attractiveness of a Morton. Cool Roof Colors Morton offers several “cool roof” paint colors that are ENERGY STAR®approved for reflectivity. These approved colors help to reflect sunlight and keep heat out of the building, which helps to keep the building cooler and reduce cooling loads. Morton Buildings recognizes that a superior building is best accented with an outstanding paint coating. That’s why Morton offers the FLUOROFLEX paint system. FLUOROFLEX 1000 consists of a 70% polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) topcoat or “color coat” and polyurethane primer that utilizes either a GALVALUME®or hot-dipped galvanized metallic coating. This superior paint system provides your building with multiple layers of protection. FLUOROFLEX 1000 provides superior protection against fading, chalking, paint peeling and red rust. Because it resists the effects of ultraviolet rays, rain and pollution, it retains color and gloss far longer than standard consumer or commercial paint coatings. Morton is proud to offer a 35 year warranty against chalking, fading and peeling of FLUOROFLEX 1000.
