Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School
Yarmouth, MA
On Wednesday, October 7, 2021, our office visited the job site to observe the
construction progress for the Dennis Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School.
The Construction trades working this day included Concrete, Steel, plumbing,
and Site contractors. During the visit, I spoke with representatives from
Commodore Builders and PMA.
Building earthwork continues with underslab stone placed in area D, rough
backfill in areas C, B, A, and stone placed in the Gym.
Concrete installation for walls and footings is nearing completion. Concrete is
being placed today in Area A. Removal of formwork is taking place in area B. The
repair to the misplaced exterior wall at the Area B East entry is completed.
Steel erection in the Gym is taking place today, one long span truss is installed at
line K.8 with secondary trusses framed to line J.7. The primary steel frame in
areas C and D is in place with roof joist installation progressing. The floor deck is
in place in both areas, and roof decking is being installed in area D. Shear
connectors are in the process of being installed in area C. There are two spans of
Side lap deck connections that were not complete near the West connector on
the area C decking. This was brought to the attention of the steel erector.
In general, the work observed appears in conformance with standard industry
practice. Other than the items noted above, there were no apparent deficiencies
noted.

Field observations performed by Girard and Company, LLP are not detailed inspections and do not relieve
the contractor from their obligations under the construction contract, including but not limited to the
construction means and methods and job site safety. The purpose of the field observations is to verify that
the progress of work is in general conformance with the contract documents.
