ARCHITECT’S SITE OBSERVATION REPORT

The purpose of the Site Observation Report is to record general observations of the work in progress at the time of the Architect’s visit.
WORK IN PROGRESS:
1) Steel erection and steel detailing; plumbing steel
2) Moment frame welding and steel detailing.
3) Misc metals work
4) Preparation for Concrete Slab on grade and SOG placement
5) Ongoing building earthwork
6) Underground electrical and plumbing work
7) Grouting column bases and painting column bases with mastic
8) General Site work including water main installation
9) Ongoing survey work by Brennan
10) Fenagh is on site for FF/FL and welding inspections.
FIELD OBSERVATIONS:
PE visited the site on Friday 10-29, in order to review ongoing progress with the steel erection, concrete floor placement,
building earthwork and other work on site.
1. Steel erection is 95% complete—all but the south side of Area A (music wing), which is awaiting a final
delivery of steel. At the time of observation the Stellar Steel crew was installing the mechanical equipment
frames at the roofs of the kitchen and the auditorium lobby roof (Area A), and was also in the process of deck
detailing at Area C, installing moment welds at Area B (see photo), and plumbing the steel frame for the gym.
Roof joists at the future adaptive PE space were installed earlier in the week (see photo on page 2).
2. The slab-on-deck for level 2 of Area D was placed earlier in the week and is still curing (see photo at the
bottom of p. 3); the concrete work is complete around the interstitial underslab MEP space at the auditorium.
3. Silverback has formed up the slab edges for the slab-on-grade at Area D, and at the time of observation they
were preparing the vapor barrier, wire mesh etc. for the two-stage slab-on-grade placement (east and west),
which is scheduled to begin on 11-02.
4. Marguerite is grouting the column bases at level 1 ahead of the slab on deck placement at Area C level 2,
which is also scheduled for next week. Also in progress is mastic application to the lower columns to isolate
columns from SOG.
5. United Steel (miscellaneous metals) has installed the braces for the parapet CFMF framing, at both area D
and Area C (see photo on page 3).
6. Harold brothers and Annese (plumbing and electrical) are both in the process of finishing up their
underground work in Area C.
7. Building earthwork: RBO has completed fine grading of the crushed stone at the C-D links and has started
fine grading at C in preparation for the SOG placement in Area C (see photos).
8. The ceremonial topping off of steel is scheduled for 11-04.
9. Site work: water main installation is ongoing (see photo)

DISCREPANCIES:
· PE observed that the 4x6 HSS post that frames one of the media center window jambs (the one on the
easternmost jamb) was not seated properly at the top and was out of plumb (see photo at top of page 3).
Commodore asked Stellar to correct this.
