FIELD OBSERVATIONS:
PE visited the site on Thursday 12-16, to review ongoing progress with the light-gage/CFMF installation, concrete slab
placement, roofing, building earthwork, site utility work, etc.
1. At the time of observation, Colony was completing window blocking and detailing some areas in Area C; Colony is
finishing with interior partitions on the first floor of Area D and laying track at Area C level 2. CFMF framing is
progressing in Area B, including the upper atrium side walls and the south wall of Area B (see photo on page 3).
2. Sheathing work is progressing in Area C, at the time of observation, sheathing was being installed at the
courtyard walls between C and D (see photo on page 3).
3. SFRM has been installed at critical hard-to-reach areas, i.e. behind sheathing at auditorium and behind block at
future Area B elevator shaft (see photo on page 3)
4. Beacon has been installing AVB at Area D, and AVB installation at Area D is about 30% complete. The seal of
AVB to EOS was observed to be in accord with agreement made between Commodore and PE (see photo p. 4).
5. Arden appears to be substantially done with the duct work for diffusion ventilation at the auditorium.
6. Arden and Harold Bros are continuing with the overhead rough-in for Area D level 1.
7. The roof membrane / insulation installation for Area C has been delayed; Commodore reported that roofing
materials for Area C is due to arrive on 12-16 and that roof installation will resume next week.
8. Lighthouse masonry is laying brick at the exterior mock-up (see photo on p. 2)
9. Lighthouse has completed the Area C elevator shaft and commodore reports that they will be tenting later in
preparation for installing the elevator shaft at Area B. Concrete Pour for the elevator bulkhead roof deck for B is
scheduled for next week, behind Lighthouse.
10. Annese and Harold Brothers are continuing to install underground electrical work and plumbing work at area A;
most of Area B has been backfilled now, and most of the trenching for plumbing in Area A has been backfilled as
well.

11. Arden is in the process of finishing up the under-seat displacement ventilation at the auditorium (see photo).
12. Building earthwork: Robert B. Our is continuing to backfill underslab utilities.
13. Site work: Communication ductbank has been poured and backfilled; at the time of observation, RBO was fine
grading at the Mattacheese courtyard (see photo).
DISCREPANCIES, SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
· ‘Design intent’ questions from Lighthouse: PE had a discussion with Commodore and the Lighthouse masonry
foreman regarding details on the mockup, including ‘flat tooling” of joints at the soldier course and at brick pattern.
· ACM to brick joint (at gym). Commodore pointed out that the ACM on the mockup is lining up with the back of the
brick, which does not allow for a proper seal. PE to issue a revised detail.
· Termination bar question from Beacon: The Beacon foreman, Ken, questioned the “roofing style” term bar that
was submitted and approved for fastening the thruwall metal flashing to the building, because he has concerns
about stripping over it. After much discussion it was agreed to go with a flat term bar instead (Lighthouse to
resubmit term bar).
· OF scuppers. Harold bros has installed the originally-specified ‘lamb’s tounge’ scuppers at the overflow outlets
high on the building, in spite of revised (B14) detail, which called for changing to a square one. PE asked
Commodore PM to try to rectify. Note: ‘lamb’s touunge’ scuppers are still intended at “low” OF scuppers in brick.
· (from 12-02 site report): EOS discrepancies. Update: At the time of observation, Silverback had poured the
EOS extensions at the Area D north “bump-outs.”
· (From 11-24 site report): Sunshade outrigger discrepancies: Update: It was observed that in at least one case
there is an outrigger that is fully in the RO (NE corner, building C, level 2-- see photo). PE advised Commodore
that this needs to be moved so that the window can be installed and sealed properly.
