Subject:RE: 116 Mayflower Terrace (Fanara) revised plan and letter submission
Hi Mark
I spoke with the chairman yesterday and without the receipt of all the material requested he is not wanting to proceed
with the hearing. He will be requesting that the hearing be continued until we receive, and have time to review, the
protocol for the invasive species management.

Hi Kelly; I'm bringing in the filing to you today, and we can discuss those two items.
I can get a statement from either the homeowner (if he's certified), or Lindsay Strode; no problem.
As far as the height goes, all of the docks on Dinah's pond are at the same height (7.9'); the Carrus dock next door is at
the same height as proposed for the Fanara walkway. With the grating also. I just don't see why creating a "sky scraper"
is going to do any good. You and I both agreed that the dock over at #72 Mayflower looks rediculous because of it's
height, and that's 6 inches lower than the others because it was narrower. So I really, really don't want to change this
height.
This is all because of John Logan's "report" from DMF, and his report is inconclusive. He "suggests" the 1.5:1 height, but
admits in his study that he doesn't have enough data to support what is really just a hypothesis. He and I have talked,
and he wants me to provide him some of the sites that I've installed grated structures so he can do more analysis on the
biomass of the marsh below, so he can get more data.
I am prepared to discuss at the hearing, of course, but for now I don't want to change the height.
see you shortly
Mark Burgess

Thanks Mark
Please note the items requested at the hearing that I don’t see included here:
1. Phragmites management protocol prepared by a licensed/certified professional.
2. 6 foot clearance of walkover structure over salt marsh
Thanks

Hi Kelly:
Please find attached a letter explaining the resolution of the questions raised by the commission at the
last hearing, and a revised plan. The revisions are summarized in the letter, along with photos of the
2
newly established BVW and 200 square feet of mitigation areas. The plan revisions are further labeled
with a red triangle "2" on the plan for all the changes made.
Please place this on your January 6th hearing, where we will be present to address any questions the
commission has. Please also let us know if you need anything else, since we submitted this early so
everyone has more time to review it.
I'll be bringing in 8 copies of everything tomorrow.
Merry Christmas to all.
