Hi there:
Attached are some pictures from a site visit I did on January 17, and older aerials. I was originally contracted to design a
replacement wall for this site, but I have recommended to the applicant that it's really not needed at this time; the wall
is massive and hasn't shifted at all, from what I can see. Unless and until it starts to move, it's fine in my opinion.
Anyway, she has kids, and she worries about some holes in the wall (you can see it by the stairs), and the stone steps.
She would like to replace the steps with a removable aluminum set. And, she'd also like to "Skim coat" the wall top to
seal the cracks and have a better cosmetic look.
The wall doesn't appear to be permitted either, but I can't imagine how such a thing was built without a permit.
So I can probably guess your answer, but is there a way to permit this maintenance work administratively, or is it an
NOI? The existing surveyor gave her an insane price to update the survey into the water, and now has backed out, so
we'd have to start from scratch, and of course DownCape will be doing the survey, which will take a while.
What do you think?
